I just purchased a Bobcat Weapons BW89 pistol, its a semi version of the H&K SP89. The Question I have is if its ok to shott jhp ammo in it. Doesnt say yes or no the manual and I have called Bobcat Weapons with no one answering for customer info. I'm sure its fine but I wanted a few opinons. I know there are a few SMG semis out there that dont work well with hollowpoints let alone +p+ ammo.

In my book you're a hero for supporting a company who dares to make something like this that government has tried and succeeded on many occasions to BAN (daddy bush's import ban/AWban/state bans). You're supporting our only alternative to daddy bush's illegal import ban, that the allegedly "pro 2nd amdendment" warmonger in chief refuses to even MITIGATE (I guess because he was too busy hoping to sign a renewal to the AWBan, or planning for illegal/wasteful wars).
I gathered a buch of these types of pistols together in this thread: http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=220011
It bugs me though, that bobcat weapons doesn't have any info for this weapon on their website: http://www.bobcatweapons.com/html_pages/products.html
So how much did you pay for it and how long did it take to take it home from the time that you ordered it? Did you order from bobcat or a stocking dealer?

I purchased the BW89 through Atlanticfirearms.com and had it transfered to my FFL. The cost with 3 extra 30 rd mags was around $1800 with a total of 3 weeks of eager patience (worth it!). I had no problems, Atlanticfirearms was totally professional and they swore it was ok to use hollows in the gun. I'm still not sure about it yet. I guess because I live in Texas, we dont really have too many weapon-type ownership problems. Hell, about 65% of the people I know or encounter here carry concealed and have an arsenal of "assault" rifles, pistols, etc. I also paid my $200 stamp tax for short barreled rifle and plan on converting the BW89 to an MP5 clone. Brugger & Thomet folding stock and some sort of foregrip.
