HK 45 Cancelled?

The first story on their says...

9.13.2006: SOCOM RFP for pistol that HK was submitting HK45 for is cancelled indefinitely. Future of HK45 uncertain.

I really hope that they continue on and release it for us civilians. It really looks like a fun gun.

The HK 45 has not been cancelled by HK. The Combat Pistol program has been shelved by DOD.

This notification is to inform Industry the Combat Pistol requirement is postponed indefinately. USSOCOM will no longer issue a Request for Proposal.

So for now, no new .45 cal pistol for the military.

HK, Glock, S&W, SA are free to release their JCP/CP entries to the public should they desire.
