HK P2000 or Sig P239

Probably in 9mm.
Which one would you choose for daily carry, and why?
Both are good for me ergonomically. The Sig is heavier and seems to have a more vulnerable finish.
I tend to like DA/SA, but have heard so many raves about HK's LEM trigger that I may go that way.

I would suggest shooting an LEM. I love mine.
There is a DA/SA variant (Variant 3 on the P2000) which places the decocker on the back of the gun next to the hammer. Very comfy I am told. I just prefer the LEM. Less chance of a snag as the hammer is not as pronounced.

I'm not sure what EDC means but the HK P-2000 is a great weapon. I want to get a HK LEM P-2000 .357sig when I get more $$$. ;)
If you want a smaller HK P-2000 get the HK P-2000SK. It has the same features but in a compact package. :D

I'm partial to Sigs, I've got a 239 that I love. You could also get one with the DAK trigger.

I have a safe full of Sigs but my new HK P2000SK in a V3 (SA/DA) config is very, very nice and will be my next carry weapon once my Del Fatti holster arrives.

Let's see...I'm a HK fan & not a SIG fan. How did I vote???
HK! P2000!

I'm a huge SIG fan, but this time.... I really gotta vote for the HK P2000!
Awesome pistol. The P239 isn't even comparable. Go for the P225 if you're dead set on SIG :D

There's plenty of great SIGs on the market, but in this case I'd choose the P2k over the 239.

I was first exposed to the LEM system when I bought an early P2000-9mm. I loved the trigger but decided (thought) that I wanted to go the SA route. It got sold and I subsequently regretted it. I have since done a personal purchase of a USP40c LEM from their pilot program, added a P2000 and a P2000SK in .40S&W and a P2000 in 9mm. I have very little experience with the P239 but I do have a pair of P245s. Given the choice between the P239 and the P2000, I would go with the P2000. Reasons? Similar size but larger magazine capacity and the best lawyer resistant DAO trigger IMHO. The P239 needs the Hogue grips for it to fit me well which when equiped that way makes it essentially the same size as the P2000. Ultimately it is a personal decision. Pick the one you feel most comfortable with. Try to rent them and shoot them during the same session and your quandry will resolve itself.

I love the P2000. I have not been happier with any gun that I purchased.
The 239 is a nice pistol but I am an HK guy. Either way you cant go wrong. I just prefer the HK myself so its your choice.

To my understanding CrimsonTrace now sells a lasergrip for SIGarms P-239 models, ;) .
I would still buy a HK P-2000 or 2000SK in LEM but a lasergrip is a nice add on, :D .

I say P239 because it's a little smaller and not as wide, I carry a P239 in 9mm 18 hours a day every day and have never had a problem with it.
Really both are great guns and I own several from Sig and HK but the P2000 would be more fairly compared to the P228 and P229 (P229 DAK), as they are about the same size and have the same capacity.

I would go with the HK - main reason - it holds more

:)
I got a helluva deal on a P239, it felt best in my hand, is slightly more compact and thinner. The triggers on the DA/SA Sigs feel better than the HK as well.
The P2000 felt very much like the Walther P99C I already have (not a BAD thing, just an observation). And I can't see shelling out seven Franklins for something that feels so familiar. ;)

I'll be a contrartian:own SIG and HK,carry the 239 every day.For me,it's the best shooting compact I've tried and that more than makes up for it being relatively large for relatively low capacity.Other than the craptastic standard SIG grip screws, mine's stood up to 3 straight years IWB with very minimal wear.

I really like my Sig P239/.40, nice compact Every Day Carry piece. I am a big Sig fan. I haven't shot a P2000 though, I am sure they are nice.

Voted P239.
However, I admittedly have little interest in owning either SIGARMS or HK USP (and derivative) pistols.
Don't care for the HK triggers. Dislike their incredible fascination with how many moving parts they can fit into a pistol and still have it function. :neener: Makes them the honorary Cuckoo Clocks of the handgun world. :uhoh:
Been handling and shooting Sig Sauer pistols since they were imported as Browning Double Action pistols, and while the newer generation models are improved in many ways over the earlier ones, I just can't get too excited to spend my own money on them. The ergonomics are decent, the triggers better than HK USP's, but they never really appealed to me enough for me to spend my own money on one. Came close to it on an older P220, once, even though it was typical in the way of being a bit fussy in liking JHP bullets of the time ...
If I do decide to pick up a SIGARMS before I retire, I can say I'm pretty sure it'll be a P-239 chambered in 9mm ... if it's offered at the right price during an armorer's course sometime.
The P239 is the only other metal-framed, compact 9mm, single column magazine pistol which I feel equals my 3913 in overall ergonomics (for me), as well as reliability and practical accuracy.
Don't mistake my comments to imply I think the HK USP/variants are 'bad'. I don't think anything of the kind. I've always shot very well with them, despite the DA/SA trigger to which I'd refer to as mediocre, at best. I tend not to like the LEM, but I can certainly see it being the emphasized, simplified design of the next 10-20 years for HK LE/Military pistols.
Just doesn't interest me, when it comes to my money. I'd carry an issued one, if need be, without losing much sleep ... and certainly don’t mind other folks liking and enjoying owning them. Not at all.

Once you shoot an HK you will understand. For me night and day over the SIG. Much smoother all the way around. I personally would only get one of the SA SIGs. I realize you said P2000, but take a look at the USP compact. These guns are so good they still command a premium, especially in the sexy stainless two tone. The USP has the nice option of DA/SA carry with the decocker. Its a little more than the SIG, but you get what you pay for.
