I am looking for a good hiking holster. Most holsters I see seem to ride too high. I LOVE the Vanguard Series from Bianchi but they dont make one for the 686.
Any suggestions?

I just got a black nylon UM-84R for my Ruger GP-100. It's based on the same design used for the UM-92/M-12 Bianchi holster used by the US military.

It sells for about $66.00 USD and comes in black/olive drab.
It should fit your Smith and Wesson model 686 .357magnum with a 4" barrel.
