I went to put a used Keltec P32 on layaway then I walked next door to the thrift store.

I can sometimes find novels, old encyclopedias, literature, collectibles etc...

What did I find?

12 years of Guns and ammo magazine

Jan 1974 through December 86.

They were all in perfect shape so I carried them (over 70 pounds)
up to the register.

$16.10

Great columns by Elmer Keith, Bill Jordan and some of the best RKBA articles I've seen.

Even the advertisements are cool.

Artillery lugers for $100 sheesh

My last good find were bound 1 year binders of American rifleman

1949, 55 60, 61 64

all for 20 bucks.

They are a little depressing however being reminded of all the gun rights we have lost.

That's so cool. I love finding old gun book and magazines at swap meets and garage sales, but that definately sounds like the mother lode.

And yes, I know what you mean. I get frustrated when I look at older copies of 'Guns of the World' that comes out every year, and then mentally compare it to what's available now.

I've got some old NRA magazines from the 50's and 60's. They are a riot to read, especially the old ads for guns and ammo. A Boyd Anti-Tank rifle for $250. I've got an ad for a Carcano rifle like Oswald used to kill Kennedy from the same distributor dated 1962.

I have found USMA & USAF Academy rings. Also, have found lots of military insignia, clothing, etc. One recent find was an Army dress uniform from WWII era for $35. It's truly amazing the things that folks will let go for just a few bucks or give away. Being military, I find it hard to believe that families wouldn't want to keep these items in the family.

The oldest magazine I have is a Nov/Dec 1993 American Handgunner since the cover was a CZ 75 and in perfect condition.

I was barely starting HS then!

Must not be married? All those boxes of old gun magazines were nothing but grief for me. Every once in a while I grab a stack of them to re-read. They are interesting and a lot more relaxing than being married was.

I got a ECWCS(?) goretex camo jacket for $5- at a garage sale, also a camo poncho liner for $1-,a cop size/style teargas cannister (full) in the leather basketweave holder for $3-.
Other than those, I have a hard time finding anything I really want.

I found an Army gortex camo jacket also at a thrift store for $7, no cuts, scrapes, etc. I couldn't believe it. Found an EMS +20 mummy sleeping back w/ it's original compression bag for $9. Both terrific finds.

Well, I picked up a pair of Infinity Studio Monitor 120 speakers for $20.

I'll use 'em for surround speakers tonight when I watch people shootin' stuff on Equilibrium!
