"Evil" rifles in California?

I've been arguing with a friend about the stupidity of the California Assault Weapons ban. He thinks the ban is actually keeping "dangerous weapons" off the streets. I'd like some examples of "evil" rifles that are still legal in California to show him that this ban is based on cosmetics and not functionality.:banghead:

Obvious examples are the Mini-14, Mini-30, SKS, and SU-16. What others have I missed?

I want to be absolutely clear that I do not support any type of assault weapons ban, I just want to show that the current one is ridiculous.

Springfield M1A with a certain kind of muzzle brake is legal too. M1 Garand is still legal too I think.

I don't know if the qualify as evil, but the M1 carbine, as well as Springfield's SOCOM M1 variant.

Any .45/70 rifle. A .45/70 can down anything from elephants to rats. Body armor won't change the fact that you've got a hell of a lot of 'blunt force trauma' coming your way.
Most rifle calibers are armor piercing, also, by their very nature. The .30-06, .308, and more.

When you see a criminal walking down the street with a rifle in hand let me know! Criminals prefer small concealable handguns for the element of surprise!

The reason is probably the north Hollywood Bank shootout. The ones who did it had assault rifles with hi-caps - illegally modified to full auto.

DSA makes a California Model FAL (and they actually call it that!) which has its magazine permanently attached instead of being removable. You just load it from the top with a stripper clip instead of inserting the magazine from the bottom.

You know, of course, that the California DOJ is considering redefining the ability to alter a rifle into an "assault rifle" as equivilent to having already modified it, making SKS rifles, legal today, illegal to own.

I'm not sure how you can try somebody for a crime they haven't yet committed, making an assault rifle, but the DOJ wants to do just that. Cooky, huh?

The SKS (sans grenade launcher) and fixed-magazine AR-15s are legal too.

Actually, eventually, the stock is going to be the only thing left that's legal to own.

As long as they're sporter stocks, of course...
