Hy Hunter's "Chicago Cub" .22 (Actually a Reck)

Has anyone actually ever seen one of these? Hy Hunter advertised them in the Fifties and Sixties, in 22 short only, six shot, blued or chromed. They had a one or one and a half inch bbl. and a front folding trigger and looked like an updated Kolb. They were however not hammerless.

I have been able to find out that they were actually made by Reck in W. Germany, which makes sense since a lot of his stuff was imported from there or from Italy (Rigarmi).

But I have never actually seen one for sale in the past five years I've been looking. Has anyone actually seen one? Do they really exist or where they an example of a gun that was advertised before it ever existed (like that Ruger .308 Semiauto rifle in the 80s)?

I throught it was the Reck Baby that had a folding trigger. Wasn't the Cub a solid frame revolver?

I've only seen the Hy Hunter photos and a pencil drawing in a reference book. It appears to be a solid frame, with an under bbl. pin that either a) screws out and is used to eject empties out of a side loading gate (a la Colt SAA or Webley RIC type of gate) or b) unscrews and the entire cylinder snaps out (like the NAA mini). The pictures I've seen aren't clear enough to figure it out.

The Hy Hunter .22 short exists. I have one. The under-barrel pin is for ejecting casings from the cylinder. It was my mothers purse gun which she purchased from Montgomery Ward in 1963.

I've also seen one of these; the cylinder stays in the frame, but a gate on the right side flips down to let you punch the empties out with the screw-in pin that's carried in the cylinder axis pin.

I wonder how the baseball team felt about having that POS named after them. Or maybe it was appropriate.
