Gun dreams....
My wife says that I'm obsessed. I haven't told her yet but lately I've been waking up at night at "rifle times". Like one night it was at 3:08 one time at 2:23 and 2:43 etc. I'm serious. Kinda cool but I wonder....Am I obsessed? Or is my subconsience hinting that I need new rifles?

Ed, you're gonna have trouble when you wake up at .505, or .600. That's when it starts getting expensive.

One day all the numbers I encountered were gun numbers. For example, I was waiting for the bus and I looked at my watch at 3:08, 3:57, and I got off the bus at 4:50. I bought a 2 sodas (one for my lady firend) and some candy and other junk food and it came at to 7.62. I got home at 9. It was very strange.
As far as gun dreams go just last night I dreamed (im not bsing) that I was packing a glock 32 at a party up on Mount Davidson (the one in San Francisco with the cross, of dirty harry fame.)

I've had those days where everything I looked at reminded me of something gun related; license plates, my watch, shapes in the clouds, etc.
Gun related dreams? Hmmm... As much as I love guns, I have never had a dream about them that I would like to have again, they are always bad. I don't know, maybe I'm just nuts.

My dreams always seem to stink. I rarely get to shoot anyone. Everytime I pull the trigger, the trigger pull is too heavy or its just a bb gun or the bullet has no affect on my advarsary. However, I do have some exciting dreams where everything works well.

Sounds to me like you need to step away from the PlayStation and join reality. There is no joy in being in a situation where you may have to kill another human being. It is not something to look forward to doing. I'd suggest you join the military and volunteer for duty in Iraq or Afghanistan, just so you can experience the depths of humn suffering, in order to gain a deeper appreciation for the value of human life.

I am not fortunate enough to own a PlayStation. Please, do not misconstrue what I wrote. When I said, "My dreams always seem to stink. I rarely get to shoot anyone," I did not intend for those two statements to be taken to be so directly related. I was just speaking in general terms, referring to all my dreams whether they be gun related or not when I said, "My dreams always seem to stink." I do value human life immensely. There is nothing more precious than a human soul. In my gun dreams, I become upset when I cannot shoot my foe because it means that I have lacked a good defense and that bad guy lives to harm others. Anyways, what I am trying to stay is I should not have typed my thoughts in the manner I did. I did not mean to offend anyone and do not want anything blown out of proportion. I will think everything through the next time I type. Thank you.

Kennyboy i have the same thing you do, i fought in Iraq... and before, when i was there, and when i got back i had dreams just like that, i think its just a mental thing that we believe our guns will fail, maybe? i dont really know, maybe it relates to stuggles in our lives at that time. in iraq i had these dreams like once a week, so when i got up i cleaned my M4 and made sure it was ready to go when the time came. OEF_VET, i am in no way trying to dog on you, me and you have been in the same boots, i just saying i've been there too and still have dreams like that.

I too had a dream. I dreamt of a black weapon that shot a caliber that is comfortable to shoot. This weapon in my dreams was easy to load and ergonomically designed. This weapon was black and it had an adjustable stock so that all who marvelled at it's beauty could fire it comfortably and effectively. But alas I grew up in the Socialist republic of New Jersey. Beautiful black weapons that strike fear into the hearts of felons and fools are banned there. But I escaped and today I have finally acquired the weapon that I dreamed of.

My dreams are often very deep, intricate and have plots rivalling most good novels I read.
They very frequently have some sort of gun play in them too.
Like that one recently about the sci-fi marine squad on a desert planet equipped with rifles that reminded me of a combinatione of the FN F2000 and the Beretta carbine (the one that takes the pistol mags).
Very wild dream...very fun...scary and emotional...

I've got a bizarre one for you. A while ago I had ordered a set of East German brown plastic furniture for my AK. It took several weeks to arrive, and I guess I must have been thinking about it a lot, because I had a rather wacky dream about it.
In the dream, (which was otherwise devoid of freakish elements) I opened the package in the back office at my workplace where I was having the package shipped. Yep, upper and lower handguards, buttstock, and pistol grip. But...they were 2-tone gray, the darker gray blending into a much lighter gray, almost white. And they had stylized snowflakes on them, like ski boots. And little inset gold-plated plaques with American flags and Bald Eagles. It looked like something that Ikea and the Franklin Mint would have made had they gone into the AK parts business together. In the dream I thought, "Hmmm...these were made in East Germany?" :scrutiny: I was more mystified than disappointed. Eventually I woke up and recalled the dream with amusement.
If anyone has a "Swedish Winter Olympics with American Heritage Accents" AK stock set for sale, PM me. :D

I had a dream not too long ago, involving one of my favorite weapons- The P-90!!!!!
We pulled up to the side of the road (We beingme and four or five other guys- maybe three, all looking in wierd suits like me (anyone whos played MGS2 and knows what the arsenal tangu armed with p90's looks like- that was us)
There was this wierd concrete upraised parkish are with benches, steps, and a highrise (that was only like 50 feet tall, but had glass windows ,etc) next to it. We started firing at badguys in the windows.
I actually RELOADED. TWICE! Im so proud of myself for that :) And it was actually around what would be 50 rounds too.
Then these guys pulled up in an old caddy, armed with what i think was hk G3 typish rifles, we killed em.
Ah man, i love gun dreams. I was fortunate enough to once get a dream where i was a sniper, using an M1 garand. And yet another time, i was on a medievil battlefield, crushing enemies with a war hammer., That was a good dream!!!
And say what you will, but in dreams killing people seems to bring exileration and happines.
In real life, its a far different story, as witnessed by countless members of the human race. I expect if i ever have to kill someone those dreams will become nightmares. I relaize this, but i am being honest. Im not going to lie and say i dont enjoy those dreams. This would be false.

Once or twice a week I'll have a dream where I'm in a life threatening situation. I'll try to use my carry weapon, but it will misfire or jam and I will keep trying to fix/use it but it still won't work. And when all hope is lost and I'm done for I wake up. I wonder what this means.

Ok, a bullet train leaves terminal M40A at 3:08 travelling at 2700 feet per second. If another bullet train left terminal M60 at the same time (3:08) travelling at 2900 feet per second, how many bullet trains have to leave before other bullet trains stop arriving?

Funny usually in dreams guns don't work... but in a recent one I had to use a shotgun...
I could see the pellets of buckshot spread and hit their targets... made me think it would be a cool effect to see in a video game.

OEF_VET,
I am not a war vet like you. When I referred to my buddies, I was just talking about my gun buddies, not war/military buddies. I incessantly think about/use guns and have a deep interest in military history, etc. Those hobbies may be the cause of my dreams. However, I can't say for certain. Sorry about the confusion.

I had a dream once that made me buy another gun....
I dreamed that my wife and I were staying at a hotel. I woke up and saw three guys trying to steal my truck. Telling my wife to call the police and lock the door behind me, I went outside to confront the thieves (mistake #1). As I walked toward them, they turned and started shooting at standing-out-in-the-open me (mistake #2). I aimed my Security-Six 2" .357Magnum and double-tapped each bad guy. After my third double-tap, a car drove up with Baddie #4 and started shooting at me and my empty gun (mistake #3). :what:
A week after having that dream, I traded that Ruger in for a P-95 9mm.
A year after that trade, I realized that dream was a problem in TACTICS...not hardware.
I miss that revolver.... :(

When buying steaks at the store I always gravitate towards ones whose price is the same number as used for a rifle caliber. I like to buy steaks priced at $7.62. I refer to them as thirty caliber steaks. Yes, I know this it is very silly.

I often have the "gun won't work" dream. For me, they range from mildly annoying and disheartening (The gun I've always wanted and now it's mine! Except for the fact that the slide won't go into battery, the mag is full of water, and the whole thing is made of plastic.) to the terrifying; The Bad Guys are coming for me and mine RIGHT NOW and I can't get the damn bolt closed, and if I do, there wont' be a round in the chamber, and if I chamber one, the firing pin will break, and even if it doesn't, it'll be a squib round which leaves a bullet halfway down the barrel. . .
I should probably note that I've never been in combat, or the service for that matter.
The general theme extends to other weapons and toys I've lusted after. I dreamed I had a lightsaber once (come on, who doesn't want a lightsaber?:D ) Flipped the switch and the damn thing spat out a meter-long glowing green limp noodle. Now there's one for Freud. . .

Actually...
First, I thought you were punning on the Japanese cartoon Gunnm (re-titled Battle Angel Alita for import to the US -- great read, but quite violent, it's also suprisingly deep)
Second, I had one last week. I was at my grandfather's house, and I was a dragon, and I was dry-firing the Ruger SP-101 I enjoyed so much at the local range. Also dry-fired a Kel-Tec p-3at a couple times, too, but mostly I had the Ruger in hand, imagining I was about to blow holes in the birdfeeder through the kitchen window. I think in the dream I was having a bout of the new-toy syndrome, methinks I just got the Ruger before going to my grandfather's. Not sure why the hell I was a dragon, though I was still pretty small, and I still fit in the kitchen chairs pretty well.
Third, I once saw a license plate that read "K32 KEL" While this fits the convention of Florida plates, I swore for the rest of the week that it was deliberate. Then I realized that K* pistols are a Kahr naming convention, and if this was subtle-but-deliberate, it would have been "P32 KEL".
