I tried googling the gun, but most places turn up that they don't have any in stock. Did they stop making them? Is it easy for these places to restock?

Can you direct me somewhere online where I can buy one new? Thanks.

It has to be the single action and not the HP-SFS (allows chambered carry in double action mode although the firearm always fires in single action)

Thanks.

You may want to try Gunbroker (http://www.gunbroker.com). Impact guns may have them in, but don't count on it.

I know AIM Surplus has some alloy framed FN Hi-Powers in stock right now.
They don't say if they're SA or the later DA/SA system. I'd assume SA though.

in a semi-related question, could a person living in California buy a gun online and have it shipped to a Nevada FFL? This assumes the gun in question is allowed in CA.

@Clean: No, handguns must be purchased in your state of residence. Long arms may be purchased in other states, depending on state/local laws. For instance, on cross-country trips I've found that I, a Texan, can buy rifles in Arizona, but not Mississippi.

The only way that I'm aware of to get a brand-new non-DOJ-approved pistol in CA would be to move somewhere else, establish residency and buy the gun, and then move back to CA with the pistol. You'd still have to register it with CA authorities, but wouldn't be bound by the DOJ list.

It was way easier for me when I lived in CA: military folks can maintain two state residences, so a trip back to Vermont is a good time for a .mil guy to buy pistols he can't buy in CA.

Gunbroker has 2 right now.

They're fairly easy to find in Tennessee. A buddy of mine has a like NIB 2 tone for sell right now and I'm sure that it will be gone by the end of the month.

Try Davidons at______
http://www.galleryofguns.com/gungallery/retailer/index.asp (http://www.galleryofguns.com/gungallery/retailer/index.asp.)

They have plenty of HPs.

Not sure if they ship to California, but go to the link and put your put your zip code in the box for the closest dealer.
