Anyone use the 'new and improved' Lee priming system with the new ram style? What are your thought on it?

Are we talking the "safety prime" system ie for use on the classic cast line?

yes. I am curious about updating my turret press.

Buddy of mine updated his press with one. He had to tweak it a bit alignment wise, but once he got it set up correctly, he was very happy with it. Here's an actual quote:

"The Safety Prime system came along and
dramatically upgraded the throughput of the turret press."

I've used his press and based on my own experience with the Safety Prime and Pro Auto Disk on his press, I'm buying myself a Lee Classic Turret press next month.

I highly urge you to upgrade. The thing works like a champ.

I bought a new Classic Turret press with the Auto prime system and it works really well. I have had no problems with it at all.

just make sure you order the riser die for your powder hopper. The hopper gets in the way of rotating without it.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to upgrade.

Let's make sure of the difference--Safety Prime is new and designed very different from the older Auto Prime. It works superbly with the New Classic Turret Press and the Single Stage Classic Press.

I can easily turn out 250 rounds per hour with the Classic Turret and the Safety Prime. Go to this link to see a video demo.

Here is some great info from Real Guns.

Be sure to look at parts 2 and 3, links at the bottom of part one.

Good Luck...

Wow, I see how easy it is on the video. I have been using a single stage for deprime, resize. Then hand priming with the auto prime. Then once I had 'prepped cases' I then loaded it. I switched back to the 3 hole because I hated the primer system. Sometimes it wouldn't seat well or mainly I just hated the 'handleing' of the primers.

If the 'new' system seats the primer good, then it looks great. I already ordered it so soon I will an opinion.
