Ihave a fitted gun case fetish.:o I often get real good deals on nice shotguns, but rarely are said good deals cased. Nothing like a FACTORY cased shotgun IMHO! Also when you have a high grade(which means nice wood and more than $900 to me) gun , even in a safe environment they get bumped and socks are a drag. So I have an old Jewlers safe for cased guns. The newest was the Winchester 101 20 ga. I bought for $800 out the door. It is well over 95% and deserved a case. However Winchester factory cases are scarecer than hens teeth as they are gauge and barrel length specific. Imagine my surprise when some one had one on E bay which I won for $150 + $25 shipping! That is HALF thr going rate! It sure make the gun look snazy! I will drag out 3 or four of my cased shotguns and open them up and take pictures and add it to this thread.
I just wondered if anyone else pursued factory fitted gun cases for their gunsthat don't have them:) ?

I have a factory case for my Remnigton pump gun, it's molded green plastic and holds all sorts of stuff... but if you leave it in the back of a truck, say between a dead elk and a spare tire you may find:

1. elk blood can leave a permanent stain on your $30 factory case.
2. the plastic is functional and works well but it can rub your blued finish off!

this is why old time fitted english cases use felt and leather.

Fitted cases are neat, but more so in a 'looky how neat this is' kind of way over practical 'tie it to a camel' sort of way.

I found a factory Browning case for an Auto 5 I wanted. It was gorgeous and just like described above, leather and felt.

I nearly had a stroke though when I realized the $800.00 price tag didn't include the gun it was being displayed with.

Nothing accents a beautiful firearm better than a classy fitted case. Have several and a few that I had to "invent" because no one offered them (like the 4 barrel set below). Built my own handgun cases using aluminum Haliburton's.

Heres one to START:
My new to me, best shooting shotgun I've ever owned (but not the most expensive) 1966 Winchester 101 20ga Skeet. Bored Skeet 1 &2, 3" chambers, stock has 1/8" cast off when pad was installed which fits me exactly!:D
I scored the 20 gauge 27" barrell 20 ga. Winchester period case on e bay for $175 shipped while I waited for the grossly underpriced $800 gun to clear transfer!:D That was a good omen to find the super rare case!
I LOVE this gun- I should have bought it 40 years ago!!!!:banghead:

Not actually a case, and certainly not mine, but...
I see an opening for a gratuitous "Diana" post:

Here's a couple more: A Browning BSS 12ga. Japan Made in early 70's , 28" Imp. and Mod.. Stock fit me after was cast off, I used this gun for quite a few years hence the scratched butt although metal is unflawed. My favorite pigeon and dove gun.Factory case, which is rare.
Early Citori Skeet .410, not used that much only on some quail a few times and as a sub guage on clays.Factory case.
