Winchester Coyote Lite, only, not a Winchester!

Hey gang!

I LOVE the idea of the Winchester Coyote Lite - tapered fluted barrel, skeletonized aluminum pillar bedding, synthetic stock..... A lot of work goes into making the gun only 7 1/4 lbs so it's light enought to carry along on a long hunt, but yet it's built to handle, look, and feel more like a bench or heavy varmint gun.

Does any other company make a comparable firearm? I'm not a huge Winchester fan and I don't care for the looks of that synthetic stock. I've been looking around but I don't see anything else that fills that niche.

Any ideas?

thanks,

You can buy a weatherby vanguard in a "varmint special" that has what they call a #3 contour barrel with a .740 dia. barrel. Browning also offers an a-bolt model called a "varmint stalker" that has a medium heavy barrel contour. Those are what i found when doin a quick look through a catalog ive got. Niether one had a fluted barrel but i would say your best bet would be one of those two.

Thanks Redranger!

I actually just stumbled across the Vanguard Varmint last night. I am seriously considering one in .223.

I will look into the stalker!
