Looks nice but isn't it a bit pricey for an AK-47?

Expensive? This is Arsenal we're talking about. They are known to be one of the best AK manufacturers. I don't think the price tag is bad at all, in my opinion. But it is odd that the stamped versions run $750+ when the milled versions run $650+.

That is a really beautiful rifle. Perfect.

Plus it has a 1:7 twist rate. You don't see that enough in commercially available poodle shooters. Basically the only ARs you find with the 1:7 or 1:8 twist rate needed to stabalize the longer and heavier match bullets like the 77 gr MatchKing or the HBAR rifles set up for competition. It's nice to see the proper twist rate on a .223 rifle for once, and it should make AR manufactures ashamed that it has to be on a Kalashnikov varient.

I'd buy one at that price in a New York minute if I had the money.

Im looking foward to it. The price doesn't seem so bad considering it has the ak100 series folding stock.

Hmm I cant wait to see the accuracy on that gun. I'd get one but I have another project to complete first and I already own way too many calibers.

Is Arsenal gearing up here in the US to produce it's own barrels? Also, I
thought they were now making receivers here already, but this one is not
listed under the US parts count.

For one thing, the milled guns didn't come with folding stocks.

The price is more than I was anticipating, or at least hoping for. However there are also more features than I was expecting, like the trigger and stock. I have a milled Arsenal that i'm very happy with. I'm glad to see they are refining and introducing new products, and really like seeing new American made(or at least with an American contingent) AKs on the market. Otherwise the only choices we'd have are surplus parts guns.

A 2nd 5.56 rifle is something I would like to buy. It would be a toss up between one of these and a Bushmaster carbine or similar. I would hate to buy all new magazines though. That decision is down the road though.

In the real world, I would probably buy a 5.45 from Arsenal first. I already have ammo and mags and my WASR sucks.

I think part of the reason for the high price tag is that it is a "limited edition."
I beleive they did the same with thier "limited edition" blond wood stocked milled ak. I think it ran for a few hundred more than the polymer stocked one with no other real difference.

It also looks like (from reading the link) they put a lot of R&D into the folding stock and pivot hinge so ther may be some added cost there.
