I have a Savage-Stevens Model C Whippet. It is a single shot 20 in barrel. Anyone seen or heard of these? What would the approximate mfg year be. and maybe estimated value?

After 1920 - that's when Savage bought Stevens.
Before, say, 1962 when the large Chicago hardware outfit Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. was sold to John Cotter & Co. for the True Value Brand Name
Whippet was a name used on much earlier guns made for HSB by H.D. Folsom and on later guns by Savage/Stevens/Springfield. (I actually ran across an ad for a pump .22 Whippet while I was looking this up.)
I don't have a clue on value. If it was a plain old Stevens I'd say $100 give or take some based on condition. It's hard for the prices to go up much when folks can just go out and buy a new one.

Thanks for the info. The gun was given to me by a elderly widow. She told me she didn't recall when her husband had gotten the rifle, but she did say that it was "laying around" for a very long time. It is a solid 90% gun with the only wear showing on the bolt handle, around the port and at the very end of the barrel. The wood has a couple minor dings as would be expected. The lady said it had put a few rabbits and squirrels on the table.
