So i already own both but i have had a hard time deciding which one i enjoy better and wanted to see what everyone else felt about these two excellent firearm's. I own them both in .40s&w. They both shoot great, feel great and are very reliable. I have them both in a two tone and they are nice looking. Just want some feed back and some other opinion's.

Pablo, I hope you get some answers to your question. I am seriously looking
for a new CCW handgun, and I've pretty much narrowed it down to either
a Sig 229 Equinox or a H&K USP Compact.

Whatever I buy will be .40 S&W caliber, but I hope sombody can give
a good comparison of the two guns.

I own the USPc 9 and love it. I use to own a SIG but got rid of that lemon   Since then, it takes alot to warm up to a I don't.
HK's rock! ....and roll!

The ultimate CCW gun is the HK P2000 or the HK P2000sk. They are just amazing. I highly recomend checking one or both out. Sigs are nice but they are a little heavy for me.

You'd enjoy them both a lot more if you went out and got barrels in 357sig for them...:D

I don't like the way USP's (compact or not) feel in my hand, and the triggers pale in comparison to Sigs.

Sig all the way.

Both are excellent guns.

For ME the choice is the USP.
1. ambi mag release and control lever
2. Can carry C&L

SIG for me without a doubt.

I dont know how we could tell you what you like better :P, i dnot really like sigs so id have to say the HK.

This should be a sticky because at least one person a week asks which is better Sig or HK.

Both are first-rate guns of the highest quality, but I do prefer the SIG.

The 229 in 9MM and the USP in 45. I love them both. And while I feel That the USP 45 is the best most versitle hangun, there is just something about the 229 that is magical. I love the 229's trigger. It is one of, if not the best on any auto that I have fired. Even though both have the same same numbmer of rounds in the mag, the 229 is smaller and more easy to hide on your person. Since you are asking about the .40, I can't specifically comment, but I love them both in their best calibers.

I love the USPc in .40 - as I also like SIGs (and carry one - a 239) I'm reasonably unbiased between them. The HK is a somewhat more refined pistol, lighter, slightly better ergonomics. The margin isn't big, but the HK wins.

HK USPC...If you had put the Sig 239 I'd voted Sig.

I think that the HK is the best gun, but out of the two.... I choose the 229. I think that the 229's trigger is better. They are about the same in terms of reliability. The 229 wins in terms of hiding on your person for CCW. I will always have a special place in my heart for HK's, but between the two, I must give the not to the 229.
