I was in Dick's and they have Stoger Condor over unders for 299. Are they any good ? I would like to get a over under but do not need to spend big bucks for it. It would be used in the field and to shoot some clay's.

I'd say pass. My wife has one in 20ga, and it's a great shotgun. However, it didn't last long. It died after somewhere short of 1000 rounds. I wouldn't buy one again. Look around for a used gun, or save up for something better. It's too bad, my wife (and I) really like it, it just has the unfortunate habit of auto-field stripping itself.

Oh wow thats bad. Thats what I wanted to know. Then I will pass. It seemed like a nice shotgun for 299 but I will just look around. I would be pissed if it broke after so little rounds . Thanks.

I had one in 12ga...liked it alot...was a bit heavy though.

Even used it on our trap league for a couple of years...never had any issues. - JM.

I have one in 20 ga. So far, about 3000 rounds, no problem. I use it mainly for skeet shotting. If I ever get the chance, dove hunting.

Working there, I wouldn't keep one if you gave it to me. However, there's the issue with O/U, is that it is so stratopheric--you either get stoegers, or you get something close to $1000 (or you can buy those remington/bakail "Spartan" things, but I wouldn't).

If you like the idea of an entry-level O/U, go for it. If you want it to last, start saving your money.

I HAVE A 20 GAUGE. SHOOTS A GREAT PATTERN. IS A LITTLE HARD TO CLOSE WHEN BOTH BARRELS ARE SHOT. I REMOVED THE AUTO SAFETY
(SEE THE STOEGER WEBSITE BOARDS FOR DIRECTIONS HOW TO) 2000 PLUS
ROUNDS OF SPORTING CLAYS AND SKEET. NICE AND LIGHT FOR HAULIN AROUND. TAKES BROWNING INVECTOR CHOKES WHICH ARE EASY TO FIND AND CHEAP.

I bought a Condor Combo (12ga and 20ga barrels), and have shot well over 2,000 rounds of 12ga ammo through it without a hiccup.

In fact my daughter has glommed onto it when it's wearing the 20ga barrels for skeet, so we're talking another 1,000 + rounds in 20 ga.

I've been "forced" to go back to using my Mossberg 9200 Autoloader for when we shoot skeet. I've got a feeling that it's not gonna be "mine" for much longer.......
