The slide is marked E951 and 1955; Pietro Beretta;9mm para and what i think is the Egyptian crest. The backstrap is straight, not curved like the Helwan. the grips also have 4 screws and not 2 like the Helwan. At the bottom of the butt is a laynard ring and the sheetmetal mag release. The grips are marked with the Beretta logo. The serial has a EC prefix.Egyptian or Italian made and where can i get a set of grips? Thanks in advance to the coolest members of THR.:D

The "951" (1951) would seem to indicate the Model 1951, the Brigadier/Helwan. I can't find any other pistol of that caliber made in 1955, between the Model 951 and the Model 92, at least that was imported into the U.S. The "E" might indicate a European version.

All I can suggest is that you call Beretta USA in Accokeek, MD and describe the pistol. They should be able to help. You can also post a picture here in case the penny drops with someone else. Get a good picture of the crest.

orgdp, what you've got there is called a Beretta M951E.The E stands for Egyptian Contract. The rarest of the 951's.With that rareity comes the curse. Many of those E models were imported back into the US.Many many many(ok almost all) had cracked or chipped and even no grips. They are extreemly hard to find grips for.I looked for almost 8 years for a set for mine, even contacted folks in Egypt,Israel,Syria and Jordan looking for a set.

The 951E is a real look into the past of what the 92FS is today.
Congrats on your piece of history.:D

:D Many thanks BERETTAMAN. That kind of jives with what I'd heard in the past.
