I am thinking of getting a .30 Mauser barrel for my Encore pistol (15" full bull). Don't ask me why, I guess I like things that are a little different. Anyway my question is, would I be able to shoot .30 Tokarev out of a barrel chambered for .30 Mauser. Would it be safe? I have a Broomhandle and a CZ 52 so I have both calibers on hand. Thanks in advance for any help.

Some say yes, some say no, I say that as long as the ammunition isn 't made for submachineguns either or will work in either or.
In an Encore, if you can get the barrel to close and lock up, the firearm will fire either round in the same chamber.

Chamber a Tok round then open the action and see if it will drop out of its own weight. I'm not familiar with the Encore, but if you can do this without the extractor in the picture, so much the better. The point being the loaded cartridge should fall out of its own weight. If not, you may have chamber neck diameter issues, but that's unlikely.
It's been my observation that the Tok and Mauser rounds tend to differ a tad in shoulder location and neck length. This would affect headspacing.
If the Tok round will fall in and fall out then go for it. Given decent chamber fit I don't think pressure will be an issue, the Encore should be strong enough.
BTW: The C96 is a lot stronger than you might think pressure wise, but no sense feeding the old girl hot rounds as you would hammer her to an early death.
