Actually, any German P-38 or Walther is good (but probably outside your price range) along with the British Webley revolvers.

I think I am going to get a Makarov someday but only the EG Mak is a C&R and they are twice the price of the Bulgarian. I will pick up a Bulgarian one if I get one. I have seen two Russian Maks and I didn't like either of them.

Nope. Just the EG Maks. I wish they they chambered in 9mm Luger instead of 9x18. I would allready have one if they were.

Ya, the fact that they're in 9X18 instead of 9X19 really turns me off and I don't really plan on buying one ever, at least for myself.... Otherwise, I'd almost for sure have one by now.

One of those is near the top of the "when I can scrounge some spare change" list. SOG has them now for $99 I think. There is even an aftermarket cylinder out there for about $50 that will let you shoot .32acp through it.

Here are some ideas for C&R pistols below $200.

Russian M1895 "Nagant" revolver in 7.62 Nagant. $99 from SOG (http://www.southernohiogun.com) . Advantage: Cool pistol, low price. Disadvantage: ammo is very uncommon or pricey, although .32 S&W Long and .32 H&R Mags seem to work okay. There is a conversion cylinder for $45 that lets you shoot .32 ACP, but those don't always work.

Polish TT33 "Tokarev" semi-auto in 7.62x25. $189 from SOG (http://www.southernohiogun.com) . Advantage: uses same ammo as your CZ-52. Disadvantage: SOG TT-33's are hit or miss. I had to return my first one.

Smith & Wesson "Lend-Lease" revolver in .38 S&W (note: NOT .38 Special). $160-185 from Allan's Armory (http://allans-armory.com). These are the same as the S&W Victory revolvers but do not have the "V" prefix, I think their official model is S&W Military and Police. Advantage: US C&R (although import marked). Disadvantage: ammo is uncommon, although not as bad as the Nagant ammo.

Czech CZ-50 semi-auto in .32 ACP. $159 from Empire Arms (http://www.empirearms.com). Advantage: common ammo, neat little pistols. Disadvantage: you might want more after buying one.


Empire Arms also has various C&R pistols in the $200 range, but they also vary in condition.

There are also Manurhin Walter PP .32 ACP pistols available from Centerfire (http://www.centerfiresystems.com) for $229-249. A little over your limit, but cool pistols from what I've read so far.

As the previous post mentions, only East German and Russian Military Makarovs are C&R eligible, although both tend to run higher than your limit. I got my EG Mak for $150 earlier this year because my gunshop mostly deals in new stuff and didn't know the the traded-in EG Mak was worth more than the Bulgarians.

If you watch the sale forums and auction boards you can come across Webley/Enfield revolvers for around $200. I recently picked up an Enfield No2 Mk1* revolver for $200 from Gunboard's trader.

$200 is not really a limit but I just can't spend $1000 on each one. I want to get a bunch of C&R pistols so I was looking for the deals on the lower priced stuff. Some of those $1000 C&R will be a $200 someday when they import 100K of them anyway!:D I bet somewhere there is a ton of Lugers and Walther P38s just waiting to be imported.

If you can scrounge up another $100, a Sistema Colt is an option. Their availability is waning a bit right now, but JLD Enterprises (http://www.jldenter.com/) may have some.

They really are super guns and a great value to boot.

Every collection needs a Beretta 1934 in .380acp.
There are some Romainian contract pistols still available for @ $180-$200. Sturdy robust little guns that are surprisingly accurate shooters.The model 1935 in .32auto are a bit more but still under $300.
