I've seen a handful of a customized handguns and really liked them. Most of these guns are 1911's and a few others are mutts that have just gotten together because it was the thing to do.

At a gunshop in Central California...

.500 S&W turned into a revolving rifle with a 16" heavy bbl. and a phenomenal two-piece laminated mannlicher-style stock. Crazy, expensive and impractical... but masterfully done and something to behold.

Someone here had a pic of a gold plated 1911 with diamond and ruby grips, something like $50K for a set. Gaudy as all Hell, but I still like it.

Any 1911 or AR15 can be tricked out to teenage kid rice-burner Tokyo drift car proportions. I've seen some pretty flashy versions of those guns, so much so that the only accessory missing on the AR was a microwave.
