How much time do you guys expect for service if you have to send your gun in? I mean, how soon do you expect to get it back?

I expect to get it back when it arrives. The time will vary with different manufacturers and what the gun is being sent back for.

Never had to send any of my auto pistols back in come to think of it:confused:

But any way last Ruger sent in took 3 weeks, last S/W revolver took 4 weeks for some custom work, now they "claim" they can FIX the custom work they did in 6-8 days:fire:

Like blades said call..varys by manufacturer and issue.

I would want it back quick since I have to send it overnight and they have to send it back at least 2 days. I think less than 10 days would be nice. I sent my P97 to Ruger they said 3-4 weeks and it was back ten days after I sent it in. I was happy and surprised to see the UPS man. Have also heard the horror stories of it taking months...

It would probbly vary depending on what kind of back up their warranty/service dept has, what kind of work you're having done and how much the company really wants to fix the problem ;)
Ideally, 4 weeks should be more than enough time for most issues.

Like you would with your car, when you arrange to have work done, you should agree on an estimated price, an estimated time of completion, an estimated time of return delivery, etc.

Whatever time frame of completion and return you are given, that's what you should expect. Once it goes beyond that point, concessions should be made. Now, it's not quite as cut and dry as all that, but in general, that's the picture. If you are having custom work done by a very busy smith, you should allow for delays as custom jobs tend to eat time. If you are simply returning your factory 1911 say to SA, Kimber, etc, for a changing of sites, etc, you should expect a quick turn around time.

W/out further info from your post, that's about the best advice I can give.
