I would like some load data(I have looked already) for 300 win mag and 30-06 using IMR 5010 powder. Personal or documented is fine. 147gr. fmj data would be nice.

Hey Scarnge,

About ten years ago I bought some 5010 that I was hoping I might be agle to use in 30-06, and I talked to a fellow at Hodgden about doing just that. From what he told me, I came away from the conversation with the idea that 5010 would be most practical in large capacity magnum type cases. If I wanted to try it in a 30-06, it would be best to use it with really heavy bullets in the 200 grain and heavier range. I really did not want to use such heavy bullets, so I still have a few pounds of 5010 on the shelf collecting dust.

If anyone has any ideas of how to use the powder with 150 grain bullets in 30-06, I would also like to know.

Best wishes,
Dave Wile

Way too slow.

Just guessing and not recommending, you could do a compressed load and still blow a bunch of still-burning or unburned powder out the muzzle...Be a fun night-time plinker-load, I imagine. :) Just imagine: Sunglasses at night!
