Ronrod, here's my take. KBI, who owns the CD brand, says the CD HP is made in USA - they're assembled in the US, but the parts are made by FEG of Hungary. Now there's nothing wrong with that, the FEG HPs are pretty well regarded themselves. The Daly HPs also have some nice features that add value to the package. The main ones I can think of are a ring, as opposed to spur, hammer; Spegel designed grips from Uncle Mikes; and the big one, the XS brand Xspress sights. Take a look at the Xspress sights and see if you like them because they aren't everyone's cup of tea. If you like them thats at least a $50 set of sights, plus installation. The only other thing of note is that the Charles Daly logo is a big "billboard" across most of the slide flat. Cosmetic thing, some people think it's ugly, others, myself included, don't care either way because it doesn't make the gun shoot any different. A little searching on the net shows pricing of about $400, sometimes as low as $350. Add $20 to 25 for a transfer fee, and roughly $25 more to ship to your dealer, and you're lookin $400-$450 for it. Weigh that against what you can get a used Browning/FN Hi-Power for. I bought my Browning HP used in excellent condition for $500, but it has plain sights, a gloss blue finish, and walnut grips. Just take a little time and decide if a Daly or FN/Browning fits your needs & wants better based on features and price. I really like my Browning, and I think any good make of Hi-Power is a good pistol choice.

The receiver is made in the US and the rest of the parts are imported.

Bear Mountain in Mesa, Az, through Davidsons, has them on sale for $329.
