I just want a cheap, acceptable holster for unconcealed carry of an XD45 when fishing, working around the farm etc. I will have to order online so I'm trusting you. I also will need a decent belt, again, cheap is good.

I'm fond of Don Hume leather, I have several of their holsters and one of their belts. You can check out their goods at:
http://www.donhume.com/

I recently purchased one of their 721OT holsters for my XD40 SC and have been wearing it around the house for the last day or two. I like it a lot and you can get it cheaper here than you can from Don Hume's website:

PistolGear's service was excellent BTW.

You may want to check out the XD45 Discussion Room on XD Talk and see if you can find any recommendations there:

I won't call Don Hume 'cheap'. Their prices are very reasonable and I have always been pleased with the quality.

I've not had any problems with Fobus or Uncle Mikes' OWB kydex paddle holsters. Personally, I find the Fobus easier to don and doff, but the Uncle Mikes one works well too, and was available at the local shop in left-handed configuration.

They're durable and comfortable to wear in my experience, and you won't pay that much for them.
