Baby Eagle 9mm

I've got a line on a Baby Eagle 9mm w/2 mags and box for $380 including tax. It has some glove box wear on the finish, but inside it looks like it hasn't ever been fired. Ramp is clean as a whistle.
I happen to have $400 that I was saving for ammo so I have the dough. What is holding me back is that I'm not a 9mm fan and I've been trying (unsuccessfully so far) to pare down my collection.
Opinions? You guys usually have a surplus! :)

A new BE 9mm will run $400-$450, dependining on locale. Add tax, and you're saving a minimum $50. If the finish scuffs don't bother you, go for it. The BE is a fine pistol.
I paid $500 for mine, but it came with an extra slide and barrel assy. in stainless.

A Baby Eagle is one of those pistols that is apt to make you a 9mm fan.

You guys are giving me the exact same advice I'd give someone else in my shoes.
Did that even make sense?
Anyway, I think I'm gonna do it.

I paid more than that for the pistol alone. It came with one mag and I purchased 3 others directly from Magnum Research bringing me to a significantly higher cost.
If you care about having polygonal rifling make sure to check the speciment out, it may or may not have it depending on when it was manufactured. It seems that the newer the gun is the more likely it will have standard rifling.
The Baby Eagle should be able to handle some very warm 9mm ammunition if you think it's low in power. Make sure to get the appropriate recoil spring though.

Buy it. Shoot it. Join the 9MM fan club. I don't think you'll regret it.

I think that's a good deal - what the heck, might as well go for it, as if you don't like it, you should be able to sell it back for the same price.
Though I think once you shoot it, and see what kind of a smooth shooter it is, you'll save it and learn than having 15 rounds of 9mm is a good thing.
There's been a lot of Baby Eagle activity on the boards lately - wonder why?

That is what got me looking for one. I read a bunch of good stuff on the XD's and that good stuff was 100% correct. I'm reading losta good stuff on the Baby Eagles and I'm thinking you guys might be right again...;)

My fave 9x19 is the BE. If the gun has polygonal rifling buy it up ASAP if not sooner.
You'll love the gun if you decide to buy it. It's a bit much for everyday carry (but very doable) and the finish will go quick if you decide on it for that duty (mine needs to visit a smith for reblueing). More accurate than anything in it's price range.

The Baby Eagles are solid guns, and as far as 9mm, it's a born killer. Don't let the 1911 types talk you out of it.
