MA people:

Whats going to happen if Deval Patrick gets elected? I dont have too much political knowledge (a soph who hasn't taken US history since 5th grade:barf: ), but what can the governor do to affect guns here?

BTW, it looks like Deval's going to win-It seems Patrick has 55%, Healey 30%:barf:

He's promised to end private sales, and establish one-per-month limits on purchases.
He's also promised driver's licenses and college tuition for illegal aliens.

So what will happen if he's elected?

One per month limit? Is that per person, per shop, or really one per month for only those who obey the law?

Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling. Forty years of darkness. Earthquakes, volcanoes. The dead rising from the grave. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria!

From Patrick's website of his platforms:

- revive the coordination between state and local police and federal law enforcement throughout the region to attack illegal gun trafficking into Massachusetts at the source;

- limit gun purchases in Massachusetts to one firearm per month;

- ensure that private sellers such as those at gun shows are subjected to the same reviews and checks as licensed dealers;

- require background checks of purchasers at gun shows and from private dealers

OK, I'll play:
Deval Patrick is the ultimate empty suit. He is all slogans and meaningless sound bites. The Boston Globe is his biggest cheerleader. He wants to tax the people of Massachusetts back to the Stone Age. He can blather about one gun per month, but not even my mother-in-law believes that criminals are going follow that one...
He has ranted on an on about getting the "disenfranchised" to get out and vote. Yet he hasn't voted in an election this millennium.
He will not survive election day.

Happens. You move out of this dump of a state.:cuss:

I sincerely hope, for your sake and that of all good people still in MA, that you're right.

Otherwise it's going to become a socialist hell of an influx of illegal aliens as fortune-500's bail out, and the citizens will be unable to defend themselves against the resultant rampant crime.

For my sake, too. After they irrecoverably foul their own nest and flee, the gated-community soccermom/dad anti-liberties statists will move up to NH, not realize that THEY destroyed the state with their voting, and do it all over again here. :barf:

You move out of this dump of a state.Exactly. Why anyone who values freedom would want to live in that socialist feces hole is beyond me...:confused:

He has a very good chance of winning for a few reasons.
1. Alot of voters are really angry at Romney and his admistration. Pay back time.
2. Healey is a lap dog for Romney and has little of her own personal charm.
3. And last but not least, Mihos will suck a good deal of votes away from Healey, enough to make her loose the election to Patrick.

ONE GUN PER MONTH!?!? (my wishlist below...)

So is it legal for one to go to NH, buy all the long guns he wants, then come back down to MA with them?

Pretty soon we wont be able to move out of MA. *Communism*

One gun a months means just that. If you go out of state to buy a long gun you still have to regeister the gun via a FA-10 form.

What if you can't afford to buy a gun every month?

I think the one gun per month rule is excellent!

As a disadvantaged, economically disenfranchised, member of an oppressed minority (I am white, Christian, hetero, etc) I would qualify for any number of government assistance programs!

In less than 10 years at one gun per month, I would be pretty well taken care of! Thanks Deval!

Oh, what about my ammo?!

Oh, what about my ammo?!

They'll take care of that one too. After all, without ammo, a gun is just a big, expensive hunk of wood (or polymer) and steel, of course. :D

I hate to think about what might be in the future of MA. Anyways, if Patrick gets elected, he'll be the first (D) Since Michael Dukakis.

Michael Dukakis (D) -ran for President and lost.
William Weld (R) -resigned to become ambassador
Paul Celluci (R)- resigned to become ambassador
Jane Swift (R)- did not seek re-election after criticism (she was pregnant while in office)

Mitt Romney (R)- elected, term about to expire.

(and I'm typing this from memory. That's right, no looking.)

LkWinnipesaukee, I might add, that (LkWinnipesaukee) is a nice place. I sure miss it
