Question about CA laws

My X wife may be heading back to California soon, and we're wondering where she stands with her guns. She has a Springfield Ultra Compact and a Kel-Tec P-32. Can she bring them in the state? What does she have to do then? Going to San Diego county if that matters.

it says here
I am moving into California and I own several handguns. What are the new-resident registration requirements?
You are considered to be a personal handgun importer as defined by California law. You may bring all of your otherwise California-legal firearms with you, but you must report all of your handguns to the DOJ within 60 days as required utilizing the DOJ New Resident Report of Handgun Ownership. You are not required to report rifles or shotguns. You may not bring ammunition feeding devices with a capacity greater than ten rounds, machineguns, or assault weapons into California.
(PC sections 12001(n), 12072(f)(2))
the form is

Check the CA DOJ website for approved handguns, I think you can only bring those. No Beretta Billenium or Dawson Tactical Advantage :fire: :cuss:

as long as they are not "assault rifles" shes cool.. technically there is a form (available on the CA DOJ website) that you can fill out and voluntarily register your guns, but as long as you bought them legally i wouldnt sweat it..
of course im not a lawyer,
but I do like to play doctor!

As for the Springfield, these are the only 3" allowed
PX9801L (ambi safety) / Alloy, Stainless Steel Pistol 3" .45 ACP
PX9801L / Alloy, Stainless Steel Pistol 3" .45 ACP
PX9802L / Alloy, Stainless Steel Pistol 3" .45 ACP
PX9804L / Alloy, Stainless Steel Pistol 3" .45 ACP
PX9805L / Alloy, Stainless Steel Pistol 3" .45 ACP
PX9808L / Blue Steel Pistol 3" .45 ACP
But our children are safe; are yours?

Thanks for the links, guys. Looks like the Kel-Tec is right out. The Springfield is a 9171L (3.5" barrel) and is "Approved".

The "safe list" is for retail sales of new guns. Private parties can sell used guns not on the "safe list." Gun stores can sell them on consignment.
El Toro is correct, there is no law against bringing your guns with you unless the gun is banned under the assault weapon laws.
You may NOT bring your 11+ round mags.
