Hello. bronsht here; new member. Could any of you help me? Have a buckmark target pistol. Haven't used it in a while. It is not extracting spent brass. I oiled it up, but it didn't help. Did a standard take down and cleaning, then oiled it up. Still does not work. Do I need to replace the spring, plunger, extractor? How does one disassemble all those? Is there any other fix? Yes, I did try 6 different brands of ammunition. I searched the archives and could not find an answer to this. If this is answered therein, please point me in the right direction. Thank you so much. bronsht

Get rid of the oil and shoot it dry. Also - look for a burr on the top of the breechface, running vertically from the chamber up about 1/8". That's made by dry-firing, and (if present) needs to be stoned so that there are no raised edges to it.

Thank you, rbernie. I never dry fire-was told that I would break the firing pin. I'll dry it out. bronsht. If I need to replace the parts, can anyone advise me of takedown? bronsht

Here is a link to a schematic illustration. http://www.e-gunparts.com/productschem.asp?chrMasterModel=0630zBUCKMARK

Jackal: I have that schematic in my owner's manual. Not being the brightest mechanical booger in the group, I thought I ask the experienced members, how one actually takes out the spring/plunger/extractor and how to reinstall in case there are tricks I should know. Any ideas or do I just take a pair of pliers and rip it out (VBG)? bronsht

I think the extractor, spring, and plunger are all press-fit. A good tug to the outside might do the trick. BEWARE OF FLYING SPRING AND PLUNGER, don't lose them.

Before you start disassemblign stuff with force, try one more thing.

Take the barrel off. (If memory serves me, the sight rib comes off first, then loosen the screw in front of the trigger guard, and the barrel should come free. You may have to take the slide off, but I don't think so...)

Take some 0000 steel wool (0000 - not 000 or 00 or 0) and wrap a teenie weenie bit around the end of a q-tip. Insert the qtip into the chamber and twirl it for a while, workig it in and out slightly. The object is to lightly polish the chamber walls. While you're at it, drag your fingernail across the breechface and make sure that they're no burrs on it. If there are, stone 'em off.

Reassemble and try it. Don't use Federal bulk pack or Remington green box stuff, and Stingers are probably a bad idea too. Stick to CCI standard power loads and see what happens.
