Was interested in a DA 9mm to replace my Browning. Mine is Mark 3 and
although purchased in '93 is NIB. Looked at Bersas, CZs, Brownings, etc.
In two locations, the best I could get for mine was $300. Not having done
this before, I was surprised. Decided to keep my Browning and pay cash for a DA later. Maybe I was expecting too much. Bluebook says
MSRP-$797, !00%-$630, and thought I'd get maybe $400 - $500.
Some of you more experienced guy's please set me straight.

Thanks

$300 is about right for what a dealer would give you.

I bought a like new .40 cal. MkIII last year for $400 from a local dealer, a couple of weeks ago found a very clean MkIII Practical for $500. I see the standard MkIII's in excellent condition at shops for $400-500 around here.

I'm happy anytime I can find one in the $400-500 range. And your best bet is to try to sell to an individual, you could get the money you want for it.

Thanks, BrowningGuy, I feel a little better. As I said, I may just keep
it since it is a fine weapon and just accumulate a few $'s and buy a
Bersa or CZ. I live in Baytown.

Keep it- it's a great pistol. Save awhile and buy a Ruger P89 or P95- also great pistols. I own two High Powers and love them, BUT I have a great deal more confidence in my Rugers.

We allowed a customer $350 in trade, on a brand NIB Browning HI-Power
MK-III. Be advised that Hi-Power sales in our locale have been dead for
quite sometime~! :uhoh:

I'll give you $301! ;)
All kidding aside you ought to keep the High Power if you can. I have two and want more. Its a disease that is not listed in the New England Journal of Medicine. If you can't keep it, sell to an individual for more money. I bought mine new for $419 for the Practical version. Then again that was some years ago. My next High Power purchase will be the Mark III some day.

One of the problems is that you can pick up FN Hi Powers around $400-$430 new. That brings down the value of Browning MKIII's, actually all of them in a way. The Standards and Practicals still bring a pretty good price but if you want to sell a MKIII, don't look for a lot right now.
