Walker, Texas Ranger - had to laugh

In the episode just starting on USA network, Walker and his partner are in some sort of pistol competition. They start with their pistols loaded, in a box facing uprange and then move along a Hogan's Alley. The alley is parallel to the audience, and when they reload, they turn away and point their guns right at the audience! In just one minute I saw enough violations to get twenty shooters banned for life from any form of pistol competition.

Then you see a police officer going through airport security on his way to the match, and he just puts the gun case right on the x-ray belt. Only after they are x rayed does he show his ID (which wouldn't help anyway, since you have to be on business to carry on the planes.) And the security lady doesn't even react to seeing the guns in the case!

No wonder people think security needs to be tightened.

Okie,
Keep in mind that the episode you saw was made a least 8 years ago, around 1995-96. I believe the 2nd season. Well before 9/11. It is also made in a 1 hour movie format with 20 minutes of commercial breaks. Hence, they did their best to tell the story within the time allowed taking artistic privilages.

There are not allot of movies/shows that are realistic. You can always find something out of wack.

When Walker was on, it was good entertainment, and I enjoyed it for what it was. The main reason for me was Chuck Norris. I have been going through withdrawl now for about 2 years, it is not produced any longer. Just reruns.

Enjoy...:banghead:

Another thing to keep in mind, It was made in the land of BIG, Texas... Where every pickup is require to have a gun rack...

Now if we can get friendly in this state...:cuss:

Enjoy...

Firearm related stuff you see on TV or in movies doesn't count. It isn't real. Marvel at the cars merely rolling down hills and always exploding, the 9 story uphill shots with a 2" revolver, the clear 10 feet away sight pictures through a telescopic sight, the SAA that never needs reloading and enjoy the show. You know better. Mind you, it's also where most politicians get their firearm knowledge.

I just shake my head when I see a movie/TV person take cover behind a car door during a gun fight. About the only thing that will stop a modern round is the engine block. I have seen and shot rounds into a car to see the effect. A round will go through both doors and the seat cushion as well. It gives you a different insight. Its just like thinking 2 layers of drywall will stop the speeding bullet.

You got to accept it for what it is, Entertainment!

Shoot Throughs Count!!!

Enjoy...:banghead:
