Would you trade?

A nice pair of binoculars that see (pun not intended) little to no use at all for a handgun? I have been thinking about trading in my pair of Leicas for an H&K P2000SK 9mm for legal CCW. I am just curios to see if anyone here would perform such a trade?

nope. i have other handguns, and top-end glass is much harder to come by than guns for me.

If I had product that is more "generation" date sensitive (gun technology is not advancing as fast imo), and I could trade for a good ccw I needed, and would USE- no brainer. ESPECIALLY if the binoculars are not being USED!

In terms of utility, it's a no-brainer: Something you don't use for something you will use and that could save your life someday.
Monetarily is another question. Are the Leica's worth about the same? If they are worth more, sell them outright and use the money to buy the gun, holster, ammo, etc.

this needs thinking??
something you don't use for something you can have fun with and may save your empty headed life?

Unless you are a bird-watcher, get the gun. I am a birdwatcher, and I would have bought a gun plus a budget pair of binos instead of the Leicas.

and get a different CCW. CZ perhaps? How about a PF9?
HKs are nice, but the're nothing special.

Yes.
What are you actually using them for anyway? The twice a year camping/hiking trip that somehting less expensive could suit you good enough with?
I would much rather have a life saving tool over a novelty item.

Value wise, is it fair to both parties? From what I know of Leica optics, they can be pretty pricey and I know as an HK fan, HKs are pricey.
I guess as long as both parties are satisfied in what is given up & what is brought back in return, it's a good trade.

somthing you dont use is worthless. go with what you would use the most. think of it this way, a pistol wont lose value much as new models come out.

Keep the optics they are harder to buy for most. I never trade my glass when I sell a gun. Sometimes my glass is worth more than the gun I am selling.

I have decided to keep the glass. I have yet to get serious about obtaining my CWP, therefore I would take that first step. I bought this pair a while back at a price that still shocks me (double clearance from a Gander Mountain). There may be a time down the road, where I will be able to enjoy this pair for sure. Thank you for the replies and suggestions!

Unless the bino's can shoot lasers or something, they yes.

.binoculars won't save your life and have very little use in everyday life.
That depends on what you do in everyday life. Just because you may not have a use for them that doesn't represent everyone else.

Good glass versus cheap glass there is a big difference.
Overpriced gun versus affordable gun. Not so big a difference.
