After receiving a lot of good advice from THR, I started buying guns for the nephews for this Christmas. Yesterday I picked up a Marlin 915 in stainless (with those "hi viz" sights) for the six year old. He is using his big brother's weapons, but this one will be his.:)

I also ordered a compact 10/22 with a 4X scope with target towers for the eight year old (my brother says he is ready for a self-loader). I'm going to give him a .50 ammo box full of .22 as well. My brother is buying him his own range bag and grandpa (my father) is buying him a Bearcat.

The others are 3, 2 and 1. In a few years I will start running out of ideas and will have to get very creative.:uhoh:

Thanks for all your help, THR.:)

I'd be surprise if the 8-yo could LIFT the can full of .22's. Left in the bricks, with standard packaging, you can put 4 bricks in a cal-50 can, with room left over for odd-lots like Mini-Mags, CCI shot carts, etc. Don't ask me how I know...

BTW, you're a helluvan uncle.

Hutch, you're probably right. I break open those 550 Val-U Paks from MegaLoMart and dump them in the .50 can.:D

He's not the tallest kiddo, but he's tough. Matt makes him do pushups and pull ups (assisted) before dinner.:)

I'll be asking my silly questions again next Christmas.

My three year old grrrl told her Mommy that she was going to ask Santa for a pink Cricket. <sniff> I'm so proud of her.... :)

I've already planned the timeline for when my kids will get guns of their own. I just don't know if my sisters' kids are going to be allowed to get them. Chicago is crappy like that. Uncle bud just may have to keep them at his place until they are old enough to have them on their own.
