Ladies and Gentlemen;
I recently procurred a M65 with 4" bbl from Mark at summitgunbroker.com. He is a upstanding guy and based on my experience you can count on the condition of the pistol being better than his call. Now back to my topic.

I intend to reload primaily 38 spcl equivalent loads for this K frame. However I intend to shoot some pins with it and need/want a bit warmer load. My thoughts are 10 gr of AA #7 under a 158 gr LSWC ( I have several pounds of #7 around the house and low volume .40 shooting is not eating it up). The info I have says this ought to be around 1100 to 1200 fps. I know the K frame .357s have a reputation for cracking forcing cones with extensive use of full power ammo, I'm recalling primarily 125 gr stuff, is my proposed load mid range enough for moderate use of 50 or so rounds a week? Thanks for your thoughts:confused:

I have a 4" M65. I just use A 158 grain LSWC hand load that is close to a 38 +P. When I shot pins, placement meant more then power. 900-1000 FPS should do the trick.
I used A light load in A M29.
The 158's should hit close to point of aim. I sure do enjoy shooting my M65

I recently bought a 3". I'm chomping at the bit to reload for it, as soon as my Penn 158gr. LSWCs come. I don't want to use up all of my Federal "FBI" loads in it. They don't make them anymore and the Remingtons are about 4x as expensive!
