I understand that carrying concealed or open in VT is legal for pistols, revolvers, etc. I understand that carrying a gun "configured for hunting" in a car is a big no-no.

What about carrying a rifle/shotgun concealed or open by hand or on a pedal-powered bicycle?

Not a lawyer, but I believe bikes count like a car, boat, private airplane, etc.

How do you expect to conceal a long gun?

More of open carry, but I just wonder about legality.
