I have the earlier one made by Rossi,,its the carbine model, nice rig and I have it set up as my truck gun,,have hunted with it and taken 2 nice deer using the 200 grain Bearthooth cast bullets.

Some require a little slicking up, and there are a few smiths that do it , you can find them on the sites the "Cowboy Shooters" use

I have one in stainless steel. After about and hour and 3 cups of coffee at the kitchen table de-burring the internals it's one slick rifle. It's really fun to shoot and quite accurate. I believe it's based on the 92 winchester action so it strong. I have no problems hitting clay pigeons at 100 yards with mine. If I have my .357 handguns and the rifle with me I always end up running more rounds through the lever gun. I like it better than the marlin's or winchester's.

I have one (Rossi 92) that I use for Cowboy Action Shooting. It's a very nice carbine and I really like it. If you are mechanically inclined and want to work one up look at Marauder's webpage (http://marauder.homestead.com/Rifles.html) for more info.
