How do I get my CZ 75B Semi-Compact to drop its magazine completely when I hit the magazine release? Is it just a part change, do I need to send it to a smith or can I just bend the spring myself?

Also…. Anyone make a magazine bumper for the CZ/Mec-Gar magazines?

I've bent my CZ75 springs to get the mags to drop free, but I also seem to recall that you can buy a variant from CZ that accomplishes the same thing.

The variant you are referring to is the CZ85 Combat. Even though it has the magazine brake, it is shaped to press against the back of the magazine less, so that the mag can obey the laws of gravity. Another option would be to go over the surface of the magazine brake with a compound like Flitz, and give it a nice polish job, less friction, smother ejection.

Just a thought.

Just stick your finger in the mag well, and push the brake back into the mainspring. If thats not good enough, you can remove the brake, and flatten it better, reinstall.:)

Unload your pistol.
Field strip it.
Remove the grips.
The top of the mag brake is held in by a small pin. Push it out with a 1/16" punch. It shouldn't require hammering. Don't try to remove the bottom of the brake because it is a PITA if you have never done it before.
Use needle nose pliers and very carefully bend the brake until it is flat. Reinstall and test.

yep..just take it out and bend it..takes about 5 minutes..

CZ makes rubber basepads for their mags...call CZ-USA and press the option for parts.

+1 on all the above.
One added note may be overlooked here - you will notice everyone advises you to just flatten it a bit, it works. Nobody said-take it out and pitch it.:D

That is not a good idea IMHO, so leave it there and let it separate the compartment and provide a guide for the mag insert. Just thought I would say it....I have seen that idea tossed out on other boards, not good.
