Dimples

Without going into detail here's the semi problem- When I FL resize for my 7.5 Mas 49, I get one dimple in the cases where the shoulder meets the body of the case when I cam over during the sizing- This doesn't seem to hinder performance, but is annoying nonetheless- If I only use these cases for the 49, can I FL resize without camming over or even just neck size?

The dimples are from getting case lube on the neck, do not lube the outside of the neck. Lube gets trapped there at the shoulder at the bottom of the stroke and has nowhere to go = dimple. You can put a little inside the neck with a (I use a .22 cotton swab) swab or q-tip to fascilitate easy lifting of the press handle and less chance of stretching the case. Even then just use a very little bit and only in every other or every third case when lifting the handle becomes more difficult. This lightly lubes the expander ball on exit of the case making things a lot easier and less chance of having to trim the cases after resizing. Hope this helps,,,,,,,Terry.

Most likely you are getting lube dents. cut back on the amount of lube on the cases, clean the die thourghly, and make sure the vent hole is clear. To answer your question, yes, for a while until you need to trim, just make sure the finished cartridge chambers.

Neck sizing is generally not recommended for autoloaders.
As for lubing, I have never had a problem with dimpling the shoulder by laying out 20 or so cases on an RCBS lube pad and then rolling them back and forth 2 or 3 times. If you don't apply too much pressure, you won't get lube on the neck and shoulder this way.
Speaking of which, when are they ever gonna figure out how to FL resize a rifle case w/o lube. I absolutely detest the wiping off procedure.:cuss:
