hello all i am new here & i am looking for info on a gun i have inherited. it has
central arms st. louis on the receiver. 16ga. single barrel break over. on the barrel it says proof tested 16C. i also have a marlin .22 bolt action model 81 DL. both guns are pretty rough shape. they were my Granpas guns so i would never want to sell them(not that i think they're worth much). can anyone tell me what their value woul be? thanks for any info in advance
mike

On the shotgun, it is a "store brand" gun, made by Crescent. Those guns were of fair quality but strictly utilitarian; today they have little value even if the barrels are solid steel instead of Damascus. Here is a web site that has some more info:

The Marlin 81 in top condition will rarely bring more than $100; in "rough shape", maybe $50.
