Dave,
A crisis has arisen! Another 870 is trying to follow me home, but I haven't received my PETP membership card yet so I can't adopt it yet.
How do I proceed in the case!

Will Power......sheer will power. :)
At some point there is such a thing as too many guns. (Heresy, I know)
I came to that conclusion a while back. When you look into your gun safe and realize that some of the guns in there have not been shot in YEARS. I think that is a strong indicator that one may have too many guns.
If you have a primary, back up, and tertiary (I had to look that word up, the first time I heard it - it means third) then I think getting another variation of the same gun might be too much. If you do not have a back up to your primary 870 than what are you waiting on - get it. :D
Regards,
Rob

I'm ok then.....as this one will only be a back up to the back up of my tertiary SD gun.;)

Or 6? Had to explain that to the wife over the summer. Honest, 129.95 and looks like it's barely been used. What could I do?

And so I did! Did I mention I was buying another 870 at the time? The limited edition Express Jr. with laminate stock for my daughter. She's 2 now and will be needing a shotgun soon...

Ah, Dave......not 5 (thats only the tacticool/HD types):uhoh:
Did I mentioned the goose gun, the trap gun, the turkey gun, the deer gun, the bird gun, the truck gun, the traveling gun, or the mint 1959 Wingmaster. (inherited from my uncle) which started it all. :) As you have said in the past there's no 12 step program for 870 dependency.
Me and 870's are like Xavier and S&W revolvers I guess.:p
BTW, the one I started the post with didn't follow me home. I got bushwacked by one of the other rangemasters at work last night and let him have it. It went to a good home.

Umm..I only have one.:o I guess admitting my problem is a start.:scrutiny:
Does secondary 870 rank higher than 1st AK/AR-15?

*, better get her a 28 gauge also so Uncle Steve can rest easy.
Rob,the problem is not too many guns, it's not enough time.
I've had a few other addictions in life including high end electric guitars, custom built Dobros, handguns and Bamboo fly rods.
870s are relatively easy on the budget.

Why do my 870s only multiply in 12 ga?:scrutiny: Am I not giving them enough "alone" time?

I'm more of a "foster parent" with 870s. I've owned ten in total but currently possess two -- a 12 and a recently acquired 20.
Each of the foster guns went to very good homes. My fondest adoption was a beautiful 20 gauge skeet that was sold to a very close friend and someone who I admire a great deal. He cherishes it.
I miss that gun but did sell it to him on the condition that should he ever tire of it that I have right of first refusal. Watching him shoot it however makes it very unlikely that's going to happen soon.

I like this Adopted Uncle bit.
Ain't it cool honey, I got a Littler Critter!
54 year lady, showing off a 870 in .410 to dear hubby. Funny part, she walked onto the kitchen floor he was mopping.
Just passing forward like I'm supposed to is all...

Dave-
Its all in good fun. Good times man. If I am never in your neck of the woods we are going to have to have a brew.
Truth be told having FIVE 870s would be a blast. I could set one up for 3 Gun, Tactical Shotgun, Trap, Skeet and Field. :)
Hopefully we will never see flying monkeys come out of your whatever.........

Just one for me, 45. And my response was with tongue firnly inserted in cheek.
Benellis are good shotguns but I gave my heart to another long ago...
Jim, check the bulletin boards at ranges for better deals. Right now there's a 20 gauge WM listed at PGC.
As to multiples, I'd like to find.....
One of the Sun Ray variants with blond wood. Most of these were skeet guns.
Special Field model in 12 or 20 gauge.
A 28 gauge WM with 28" barrel. I understand there were some made.
And an early Brushmaster with 20", rifle sighted barrel just because...
