I carry a mag in the gun (P7M13) and a spare mag. That gives me 27 total rounds.

Unless I carry a New York Reload, I usually don't carry extra ammo unless I'm on the road.

Halloween trick or treat, there will be an extra mag when taking the kids out. Either that or a bug.

One spare mag, a Surefire light and cuffs. Some days a BUG.

I normally carry my Kimber 1911 with a 8-round Power Mag, and a spare 10-round Power Mag. However a lot of times I do wear two spare mags, one 8 round and one 10 round.

Why not just carry a G17 full size mag? I don't carry the spare G27 mags when I have the gun on me... just plan on using the 15rd G22 mags if it comes to reloading.

Like inline , i use the larger pistols mags for spare mags , with the commonality i could see no reason to even have spare mags specefic to the smaller pistol .

One reload for whatever I'm carrying and an extra box of ammo in my rig.

One gun, two mags.

Why two? The mag carrier I bought holds two. So I roll with it.

That's 17 rounds per mag, plus one in the chamber. 52 shots, and if it can't be done with 52 shots I think I want to be hightailing it home to get a rifle and a couple of ammo cans anyway.

This summer, a Bianchi Speed Strip in the change pocket of the jeans. However, I recently realized that with the junk I already carry in my pockets, a 5-shot .357 speedloader is not at all obvious.

Now that good weather is over here in Minnesota, a couple speedloaders in the jacket pockets is easy.

If I can't get the job done with twelve rounds of .44 magnum hollow-points, I'm the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time for the wrong reasons with the wrong bunch of people.

8 rounds in the 1911, 7 in a spare mag. As SW just said, if I need more than 15 rounds I'm in deep poop anyway and should've gotten out of the situation.

I don't carry the spare mag for more rounds as much as a malfunction.

Glock 19 with 15+1, spare 15 rounder, Sure Fire Z2, or Bersa Thunder 7+1 with spare mag and the Z2.

When I carry a single-stack (1911/MK9), I carry 2 spare mags. When I carry a double stack (P-01), I carry 1 spare.

8+1 in the 5" 1911 and 2 8rd mags in the back pocket.
2 mags fit and do not look like mags. Like breaking up the shape so it is not obviouse like a single mag looks like.
Lotts of SD ammo comes in 25 rd packages. My full 6 month rotation is one box at a time.

Plus 1 or 2 barney bullets loose in my change.

Loose rounds (a cylinder's worth, maybe two) sometimes. Depends how long I plan to be gone. I have a speedloader but don't carry it much.

G26 10+1 and a spare mag of 10 on me. In the door compartment of my car I have 2 extra 10 round mags. Also carry a box or 2 of WWB 100 in the car just in case I happen to be near a range for a little trigger time.

I carry a 9 in the gun (S & W 4506) and one mag on my person (clip on mag holder) mainly to balance me out- the weight of the pistol alone on one side isn't as comfortable as it is with a full mag on the left to balance it.

I also carry several loaded mags in my 'black bag' range bag, which has pockets on both sides for that purpose. Not that I'll need them, but it's handy to have around in case I decide to stop by the range and have some fun.

Good point.

What are barney bullets?

There should be a "sometimes" option.

Most often I just carry the 7 in my 1911.

When I'm out of town I carry an extra. In my car I usually have an extra somewhere... usually an extra piece as well.

I just don't want to carry any more crap lol... I'm in a pretty big city... if SHTF I can most often just walk back to my place where I have all the ammo I need.

I never go anywhere without a reload. I'd be a shame to get shot because I ran out of ammo, while owning 50+ guns.

One spare mag. I carry it much more because of certain malfunctions like a double feed and for accidently dropping the mag in the gun. This can happen because it wasn't seated properly, the button got pressed in the holster somehow or a bad coincidence oops as you are drawing. Much faster to speed reload from a mag carrier than fumble for the dropped, possibly damaged magazine.

Oh, and the extra ammo can be handy.;)

I think the barney bullet phrase just means a couple loose rounds so while they are not quick to reload they are there if you need them.

Always carry one reload and most of the time 2 reloads.

Both because of malfunctions but also because I am not going to use my ccw and wait when the problem is over with whatever I have left in the firearm. Well that is if I go by statistics.

Yeah, the extra ammo that I carry is meant to get me home after an incident, not use it all up in a gunfight ;)

And I keep a selection of extra ammo in all my vehicles.

On my person, sixteen 10MM in the weapon, three fifteen round mags in the vehicle or in summer, eleven rounds of .45 in the weapon (Taurus PT145) and two ten round mags in the vehicle which wind up in my pants pocket in urban settings.

Having read these posts--I feel really undergunned! I just carry 6+1 in my little .32. I do plan on increasing to a higher caliber some day, but I can't imagine a situation around here where I would need more than 7 rounds.

Real close to home: Just the mag in gun.

Normally carry: 2 spare mags.

If long trip: I carry both my 9mm (2 spare) + .380 (2 spare mags in bag) and sometimes a box or two in bag.

and if thats not enough I'll just scream like a girl lol
