25 rounds in the head.
25 rounds in the torso.
1 in the balls... just in case of a rapist coming my way :D

Shot at 7-8 yards.

What do you think of my grouping? OK, or do I need more practice?

EDIT: Shooting on average 1 to 1.5 rounds per second

Depends on the speed that the groups were shot.

^ agreed put a group like that together at 25 or 50 yards.

What was the weapon that was used to make these magnificent groupings?

I admire your groupings but I recommend you try what I do... draw an outline of a .25 raven auto about 6 inches down from the head area, slightly to the right and silhoutted as if facing sideways. I then try to arrange my shots in a pattern that would guarantee that I would shoot it out of a would-be attackers hand.

Time to sign up and shoot some IDPA (http://www.idpa.com/).

You need multiple targets, shooting on the move and from behind cover.

Then you need to sign up for some real self defense pistol classes like Thunder Ranch (http://www.thunderranchinc.com/courses.html)

You also need to take a class on the legal aspects of self defense as offered by LFI (http://www.ayoob.com/)

You see, it never ends:evil:

Then you need to shoot conventional pistol and learn to shoot at 25 and 50 yards. Once you have that covered your good to go.

What order were the groups shot? If the groin shot was first, the rest was just excessive...:D

So true, actually that is where I started.

The RO that ran the Thur night bullseye shoot at my range referred me to a book that is a compilation of articles. It is dated but still a great book for learning the basics.

The Pistol Shooters Treasury (http://www.amazon.com/Pistol-Shooters-Treasury-Gil-Hebard/dp/B000BNK5B0/sr=8-1/qid=1161260011/ref=sr_1_1/104-2016654-7011143?ie=UTF8&s=books)

Then you need to get into reloading because the 2000 rounds/mo you are shooting to keep sharp are expensive.

Good shooting.

I agree that it depends on the spped at which these shots were fired, the method used, and the firearm used. With a decent firearm you should be able to get these groups at 20yrd if you are not rushed.

If these were with a snub nose and at rapid speed then I am impressed.

If it was from the hip at rapid speed you are my hero.

Here are some exampes of targets from my trial of my MK40. It is a .40S&W with a 3" barrel.

Image 1 is the target which I fired my first 5 rounds ever out of the firearm. These were fired from 50ft (15.3 yrds). These rounds were fired in a slow and delibrate manner...taking my time to aim each individual shot.

Image 2 is of a target also set at 50ft. The circled groups are the first more slow paced rounds. The non-circled ones are quicker paced point-and-shoot types. I am getting a little better group sthan I did withthe first 5 rounds. Keep in mind I was not always aiming dead center. I was trying to leave space between groups.

Image 3 is a target placed at 35 ft (about 10.3 yrds) where I did a pull from the holster and shoot scenerio. These were shot very quickly with just a general aim taken with the first round. I fired 2 groups of 5 rounds. As you can see there are only 8 holes so either two of them went through an already formed hole perfectly (which I am betting on ) or I missed twice. Still, even if both misses where from the same 5 round group, any three of those hits would have ruined a bad guys day.

Way to go, armed. Got to have a foundation, close and slow is the way to do it.

Now time to do it, one handed, weak handed, running to cover, winded, from kneeling, from prone, from supine, with empty gun, with malfunctioning gun, etc., inter alia.
