Not for an autoloader, but I paid $350 for a Model 57 that was so new that the line around the cylinder was barely starting to form. MINT condition.

Paid RETAIL price (about $715) for a silver Hi-Power back in 1998 because they were getting rare and in fact, that model with the ADJ sights is no longer offered. main gripe is the gun is a dog, aside from paying to much.
Also got a used (like new) SW686+ for $300 that is the best gun I've ever shot and wish I had ten more just like it.

Best VALUE of any auto I ever bought was a new CZ-85 Combat that cost about $400 and outshoots guns that cost twice as much.

IS way too much. Personally, most any NEW gun is way too much, IMO.;)

Not intentionally, but before Ruger brought back the Bearcat I bought one used for $250 and got exactly 6 rounds off before it broke. Ruger had no parts and returned it broken so I had to pay top dollar to a machinist / gunsmith to make a new hammer & trigger for it, bringing the price up to OMG. No way I could recover it by selling it. But on the plus side its never given a problem since and I dont regret paying the smith good money to do good work. (He moved away now to who knows where, but his name is Duane Grover and is top shelf in case any of you should run into him.)

Sig P225 here in California. It was so bad...I'd rather not say how much I paid. Someone might offer me the Brooklyn Bridge and I'll ask them if I get to keep the bridge tolls.

I paid $469 for a NIB P225 in Oct. '01, which I thought was a good deal.
I generally shop around for the best price, though I usually find the best prices at the same local shop.

So Spackler drops the $496 P225 on me. :fire: That is way better than what I paid for my NIB P225.

Me? I'm a cheap bastido! I never pay too much! Plus I shop at a very good-priced store unless I'm buying via the internet.

Back in early December of 1995, several major PD's in
my area started the process of switching to .40 caliber
weapon's; in particular SIG-Sauer P229's. I had
the urge to get one also! And the only one
that was available at the time was a NIB .40 caliber
P229 with SigLite night sight's.:uhoh: Guess what?
It set me back $760.00 + 7% sales tax; and IMHO
that was way too much.
Best Wishes,

In Dec-01, I paid $650 for a Walther P99.
O/D or two tone .40sw
This was when the big craze was the Walther two tones.
About a month later they dropped down to $480.Went back to the dealer and see if he'd give me a kick back and he gave me a coupon for a free Walther jacket I pay the $10 shipping. It turned out to be 1 of those winter $80 jackets you find everywhere.Still lost about $125 on the deal.

I paid $400 for NIB 225 so cant complain about that one.
As for too much a Springfield ultra-compact 9mm $700 and a Para P14-45S $850 I think, than later I found the internet and some gun people to show me better places to buy.

I also bought my first P99 before the big price drop. I think I paid close to $700. Luckily, it is a great pistol and I have no regrets about paying that much for it. I even paid local retail price for my second P99 because A) I had the money and B)I wanted it right then. As you can see I'm not the best bargain shopper around.:D

Well, I bought an Autaiga MKII for 199....I think it was a good deal, but i guess it depends on how you look at it.
some say it was a waste of money for a pistol that is out of production, cannot get spare parts for, and when it breaks...is essentially a throw away.
But I love it...Probably would have paid more for it.

...most of my purchases are high quality low production collectibles....price is not a question when the opportunity to acquire a rare find presents itself. Paid more than I should have many times...it's the guns that I passed on because of price that I now regret.
Once gave $2200 for a nice handgun.....felt sick about it for weeks, now the gun's worth $3500....I feel much better.

Charles Daly 1911, $500 out the door. Found out later I could get it for about $150 less...

Not me, but at the last gun auction I went to a FEG PA-63 went for about $225 (SGN price is ~$95, IIRC), and a Hi Point or Lorcin .380 went for over $300.
Somebody be kicking themselves once they researched their purchases, methinks.
