1911 Rear sight question

Just got a new (to me) parkerized Springer loaded. Gun is really sharp, but there is one issue. The gun has the Novak style night sights. However, the rear sight is really loose...and by really loose I mean I can slide it out of the cut if I wanted to.

Is there something I can do about this? Glue it in place? Or should I just let a smith reinstall the sight? Thanks!

Yeah, but screws work loose. I'd be SURE it was zeroed for windage and douse it with Loctite, the "wicking" grade that will creep into the dovetail and glue it down.

Yep:
Blue Loc Tite.
Works almost every time.

I've never used loctite...how does it work? Just a few drops on the screw? Thanks in advance~!

There are different kinds, not to mention manufacturers, just read the instructions on the little bottle, but the big thing is to clean both surfaces really well, use just a little, and myself I like to coat both surfaces.

And only use BLUE!!!
The others will weld your sight onto place.

I had to send my Springer Special Build back to the birth place to fix the reat sight. It fell off. But after 20+ years what do you expect.
Took a week and it's like new.
