In this thread here http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=228913 I tried to post a link to the web site of Halo Manufacturing (who makes a real neeto rail system for Saiga 12 shotguns among other things).

The link should look like this:
http://www.halom fg.com/Details.cfm?...=59&category=5
(without the space between the m and f in halo mfg)

However the forum censor program changed the url to:
http://www.hal****.com/Details.cfm?...=59&category=5
(which obviously won't work)

I understand that the acronym for "Oh My Fudging God" is banned, but is there a way to set the filter up so that there is a space after the g so it doesn't mess up a url for any manufacturing company thats name ends with an O that puts the abbreviation for manufacturing after their company name? (maybe two versions in the banned word list, one with a space after the g and one with an exclamation point after the g)

wow. that company should consider changing their url, due to many boards having censors set up.

I was posting on a pet forum, about pet food, and I made a comment about Dick Van Patten (a maker of quality pet foods). My post was changed to "**** Van Patten"

I've been told to test this:

http://www.hal****.com/Details.cfm?ProdID=59&category=5

There's a reason we call it "gun porn." :D

You can always post a link that innocently fails the censorship another way, by not actually posting the link as the whole URL but by posting it as a LINK (http://www.hal****.com/Details.cfm?ProdID=59&category=5)

It is simply a case of highlighting (left click and drag) a word you want to be the link, pasting the URL into the window that pops up after you click the Insert Link (Earth) icon above the text you are writing.

real_name,

Thanks, I never knew how to do that. I just tested it, and it works.

I initially attempted real_name's method and it STILL changed the url to http://www.hal****.com/

however Justin fixed the problem
