New grips

I got the new wooden grips I ordered for my Walther PPK. The only problem was they came with no notch for the safety. The top were also a little sharp so I rounded off the tops and added a notch for the safety. I am very happy with how they make the gun look. So much better than the plastic checkered ones that come with it.

Can't see the pic, but how do you like your PPK in .380. I have one in .32 and was thinking about picking up another. How snappy is the recoil?

I would like to know as well...as my choices for small pocet guns are slim in MA, I need to know if you like the PPK...are they the SW models (whatever)? I live 15 minutes from them anyway, so I could go down and handle some. Let me know how you like yours and post some picks. Thanks, :)

The one I have is the S&W model. I love it. It has a little snap to it but nothing major. It is a pretty solid gun and absorbs recoil very well. It is also a very cool looking piece.
On a scale of 1-10 for accuracy I would give it a 7 or 8 which is damn good for a small pistol.
It is also very easy to carry. Hugs the body very well in a OWB belt slide holster.
The PPK is a little easier to carry than the PPK/S but the PPK/S has more custom grip options. I put the wooden grips on mine and love it now. The PPK/S has a slightly larger handle and has a large metal back that makes it uncomfortable to my hand.

How many rounds you have through it thus far? Any issues...posta pic or two. I am thinking hard about this. Can you jsut throw it in your pocket and zip out the door? Thanks, :)

I have only put about 200 rounds through it so far. Absolutely no issues and pretty accurate. You won't be shooting flies with it but other than that it is a very good pistol.
It could very easily be thrown in a front pocket but I usually put it in a belt slide OWB holster. it hugs so tightly to the body and is so thin you cannot really notice when wearing just a thin untucked shirt.
For a price of about $450 it is an excellent buy. Next to it the Bersa seemed pretty crudely constructed and the finish seemed cheap. If you wanted something a little smaller I would recommend the .380acp NAA Guardian. It is a smaller gun and is actually made by Kahr Arms for NAA. It is around $389 and is an all steel construction. If money is not object and you want a .380 and a super small firearm get a Seecamp.

Well, it is either a PPK or a Sig P232...I guess that is about all I can get here in MA. I am not fond of anything else...no Glocks or I would get one, not in MA, ( )so...
Would you buy it again? How large are your hands...I am 6 7, so I have large, (not fat though), hands compared to most? I will try one out at the local place...how much did you spend for yours if you do not mind me asking? Thanks, :)

I would definately buy this gun again. If you switch to the wooden grips they are nice and thick. I would take it over the Sig any day of the week but the Sig is nice too.
i did post some pics but they are not showing. Here they are again.

Protein,
Can you buy a Beretta Cheetah .380acp where you are now? They are a great gun with a large grip and 13 round magazine.

I will check on that...but I do not think so. It would not come with a 13 rounder anyway...we here in MA are only capable of handleing 10 rounds at a time. :D
YES...in a 10 round version...I just looked. How are they in size compared to the PPK?
The beretta seems significantly more $$....and it is larger to boot. I suppose if I like the way the PPK feels I will get one. I just need to fins one and see if I can hold it properly. My hands are not huge, just on the large side. I wear XL winter and latex if this help. Thanks, :)

For carry I would definately recommend the Walther if you cannot get the 13 round version of the Beretta. Smaller, smoother edges, and just as cool looking.
