I tried IDPA for the first time last month and I was lucky enough that the COF for OCT was the Classifier. I did okay, I qualified as a Marksman in the SSP division.

There is a “Big Match” next month, the Florida-Georgia Border Disorder, and I am considering shooting in it. Is anyone else here going to be shooting in it?

It is going to be a long drive for me, but I am really looking forward to it. I am planning on getting a hotel room the night before and need to find out how long matches of this type last to see if I should get one for the night of. The web page says there is going to be 9 stages and to bring 100+ rounds and the match starts at 8 am. What time should I expect the match to be over?

I just last night got back from the Tennessee State IDPA.
It was 14 stages, sign-in at 7:30am, started actual shooting about 8:15am, trophies handed out before 5:00pm.
Don't see why the Border Disorder would be much different.

There are 6 or 7 of the FWCDPC GOING UP .
It was a great match last year.
Hope to see you there.

I'm a member of the Firstcoast IDPA group holding the match. It was a good match last year and maxed out the 85 number of shooters we had wanted. This year we've increased the number to 100. It should be a really good match. The facility is very good and the stages should be a lot of fun, with some challenge. Glad to hear you want to come.:)

Dag gummit, I am going to have to miss it--previous commitments. And I was looking forward to it (only missed two IDPA matches this year there).

For those of you who thought about shooting in the match, and did not, you really missed a good time. Weather was great. The stages were challenging, and everyone seemed to have a great time. Watch for next years announcement and don't miss the fun!

The Mississippi State was much closer for me. A good match but a wet cold front passed through Friday night and the weather was miserable. Sunny today, of course.

I met my self imposed goal of not being in the bottom 1/3rd of my class, which I just barely made. I was envious of the prizes, they gave away an LFI I training course, (Thanks Mas!) and 4 guns... Of course I didn't win anything (blast my luck).

This was my 2nd IDPA shoot... my first was the qualifier and I had a blast. The people were all very friendly and the match seemed well ran. I would definately reccomend this shoot to anyone who can make it next year.

No.
P7 is an ESP, single action every shot.
