Can anyone help me date a S&W Model 15-2 Serial # K517... I have not been able to shoot it yet, does anyone have any insight on this particular model.

Sure. First, you see her at a distance, then you get ahold of her, and give her a nice, firm grip...you can adjust your grip later.....then you give her a good rubdown, and.........oh wait :o :p

I guess the whole thing they said about proofreading in school would have paid off. Nice one

I have a 15-2 made the same year as yours (thanks, nitesite). These older K-frame S&Ws are fantastic guns. Mine wears a set of Pachmayr open-back gripper grips and shoots like a dream.

These are super underlooked guns. In my area a Model 18 4" 22Lr will bring amost $500 but its hard to give away a Model 15. I bought a four screw from a dealer for $225 a few years back and thought I got a good deal untill last spring when I bought another 4 screw for $175!! The guy brought it into a gun show a I was at and nobody would buy it!! Now I have one for each hand!!!:D
