I just picked up a used GP-100 4" that may have had two or three boxes of ammo through it.
It has pacmeyer [sp] gripper grips on it like my Secuity Six but they are a bit bigger.
Now, do any of you folks know of grips like the rubber one's that are smaller?
BTW this gun cost 325.00 and I think it spent most of it's life sleeping on a nitestand.
Thanks for any help

I found the grips on the 4" GP100 a bit large for me (Pachmayr on a 3" SP101 fit perfectly, though). Anyway, I was pleased to learn that the grips from the 3" fixed-sight GP100 will slip right on, and provide a more compact fit.

Here's a pic I swiped from an older thread (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=160667):

I purchased them directly from Ruger, and they worked great. But I just checked Ruger's website (http://ruger.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10051&storeId=10051&categoryId=13669&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=13668&lastCatId=13668&faNav=y), & they currently only list grip panels, not the grips themselves. Same with Letts (http://www.lettgrips.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=LG&Category_Code=GP). Maybe give them a call and ask? But stress you need GP100 compact grips, not SP101 grips...

BTW, nice username. Do you ride one? I have a beauty hanging in my basement...but I'm kind of far from the waves here in Denver.

Mystery solved: I found the correct part number in a parts booklet pdf (http://ruger.com/Firearms/PDF/PartsBooklets/D5.pdf), available on Ruger's website:

"Grip, 1 Piece Rubber, No Inserts...Part #T01010 GP100- All Fixed Sight Models $7.20"

"Grip, 1 Piece Rubber with Wood Inserts...Part #T21010-CS GP100 -- All Fixed Sight Models $23.75"

Plus a couple bucks for delivery. Don't know why the grips aren't listed in the online store, but you can order directly from Ruger at (603) 865-2442.

The Security-Six and its frame partners were famous for being somewhat undersized for the average sized hand. Hogue and Pachmayr sold tens of thousands of aftermarket grips to alleviate the problem, and smaller handed shooters around the country were excellently served by the Security Six and its compatriots!

Husker beat me to it. If you want a Ruger double action for smaller hands, get a Security Six. Though not quite as tough, they're fantastic wheelguns.

DouglasW,
Thanks for the info on the grips I will be calling Ruger soon.
Yes I ride a nine foot G&S and a nine six Murfy.:)
Clorado is a great place , but short on surf, one of my buddies was there for four years now he can't surf enough.
By the way I bought the GP-100 because of my Security Six.

I too have small hands. I've found the aforementioned "compact" Ruger grips make the large GP fit my hands quite well. Highly recommended for those of us with "fit problems"!
