Hi all.
Just a quick question for you good folks out there.
Does anybody know how I can extened my magazine tube on my Mossberg 500A?
I don't beleive that i can use a mag extension as the end of the tube is where I screw on the barrel. However, my Cheif has the same shotgun only with an 8 shot mag tube as opposed to my 5 shot tube. Same 500A receiver, but different tube and barrel.
If it comes down to me having to order a new barrel, that would do also, as I was planning to purchase a 20" barrel anyways.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Jon:)

you'll need to get a new barrel and magazine tube.
you have no idea how many times people have asked this same question, and then get all upset because they can't put an extention on their mossberg when mossberg makes a long tube model that's readily available.

Mr. Wyatt:
That's kind of what I thought I would need to do. (Just gives me a reason to go purchase a new barrel:D )
In any event, do you know of any links, or possibly any information as to where I could purchase a new barrel/ mag tube?
Also, is it hard to put a new magazine tube on a Mossy? The barrel is a snap, as is detail stripping the gun. Does the tube just screw in/out? If so that would work out quite nicely. I could keep the original barrel/ tube for hunting, and use the new tube/ barrel for "tactical";) fun. ie, impressing my friends, shooting matches/ shoot houses.
Thanks for the quick reply! Once again, any info is appreciated.

I'd contact mossberg, then i'd check gunparts company, then brownells.
it just screws in, but you'll need a strap wrench to keep from marring it.

WAIT!!
For the price of a new mag tube and barrel, you can just about buy a new Mossy. They go for around $250 the places I've seen them. A new barrel, tube, and spring will cost you over $150.
YMMV
