Dear God! Why haven't they turned into blood sucking evil demons by simply THINKING about owning evil guns?! ;)

It's nice to know some people think rather than feel in some situations.

Yeah, I suppose it's progress when they go from, "Everybody should be defenseless against the government!" to, "Everybody should be defenseless against the goverment when WE control it!".

I dream of the day when gun control will not even be a political issue, when it will be simply accepted by all that people have a right to have guns, when the NRA and GOA do nothing more than teach gun safety classes.

My favorite line from the thread:

>An ABC Poll found that 73% of Americans support the Right to Bear Arms.

Ignore those statistics and the Democratic Party will continue in second place.<

This means they are running scared. Let's keep them that way.

"greenwow -- 7. Huh?
You don’t agree with Bushy et al., but you’re planning on becoming more like them? Don’t stoop to their level. They’re the idiots that don’t care about public safety and are causing much of the crime by flooding the steets with weapons. Don’t add to the problem."

This one obviously doesn't get it and will listen to any irrational propaganda pumped into his/her ears. Oh, well, maybe will eventually win even at this cost.

On another topic, I don't understand it when these folks refer to the Bush administration (or most likely, Bush himself) as a dictator. I like the guy and I think he is doing a wonderful job. Ashcroft, I am not so crazy about. Anyway, what is the administration doing that is so upsetting to these folks? I know they have their pantied in a bunch over the tax cut and "homeland security" but I think we are ALL concerned about that, democrats and republicans alike. Like I have always said, they would rather have an immoral, philandering, dishonest sneak in the office as long as it serves them versus and honest man that knows how to stand up to BS. Makes me ill to go over there and read anything...

They call him a dictator because they can't accept that he actually DID win the election, according to the rules. They think that the Supreme court stole the election for him. You just can't get them to accept that all the Supreme court did was to stop the Florida supreme court from stealing the election for Gore, by attempting to change election laws after the votes were already cast.

I hope to god that the next Presidential election isn't anywhere near close, because I think the Dems are just *this* close to openly refusing to conceed the legitimacy of elections they lose. (They already think that way privately, a lot of them.) I think that if Bush wins another squeaker, they might just have him assasinated.

That's what's fueling a lot of their obstruction on judicial nominations. They think that the only guy who actually has any right to be appointing judges is Gore.

These guys don't know jack about dictators. I would rather live under Bush & Ashcroft than any one of the psychopathic despostisms east and south of the Danube river.

It's fascinating that their "pro-choice" argument is slipping over into the gun arena.

I don't own a gun and don't feel that there is any reason for me to have one. But I would hate to be told I couldn't own one if I felt it was necessary to defend my family, the same way I would hate someone telling my wife she couldn't have an abortion if she were raped and became pregnant. - Timing

DU is pathetic. Those people would fit right in as part of the old USSR or present day China or Cuba.

HBK, _I_ post on the Democratic Underground. Thank you very much for your relocation advice. I'll consider it.

They're finally figuring out that gun control isn't about guns. It's about disempowerment of the proletariat, commoners, peons and peasants alike. Next stop for those of us who aren't in the ruling class or, to borrow that beloved phrase of the communist propagandists, bootlicking lackey dogs who serve the oppressors, is serfdom. Benvolent Big Brother - isn't.
